There are instructions as to how to post to the gallery (of this particular forum) on the front page (top or bottom), but you'll have to find it as I don't use it myself. You say you know it doesn't like a lot of water, yet you said you thought it wasn't getting enough water (and I presume you then watered it?), plus you said it rains constantly... which would lead me to believe it's gotten much, much wetter than it ever should (which is why people keep these in the house unless they live in the dry west). Also, repotting in midsummer is a bad thing, though I do understand why you did it. All in all, your tree sounds pretty bad, and I hope you're not emotionally attached to it because I don't think it's going to get a lot better at this point, especially with the fungus or whatever problem it seems to have on top of the rest. It might be a good idea to keep the next one indoors.

hello I should be able to find some small maple trees in the yard. my malpe produces hugh amounts of seeds and most of the year I'm pulling the trees out of the planters. I'll check tomarrow and see if there are still some small enough to dig up. I can also get very small cedars from my in-laws farm in missouri, but I don't know what kind they are, they grow wild. I have put some in my yard and they have done great. I also have several mystery tree seedlings growing in some of my pots, I could send some of them as well and if you don't want them you can dump them as I will just be pulling them out when I dump out the pots for the year. if you want to send postage that would be fine but have a look at my trade list and let me know if you have anything to trade. thanks michelle

I have a Pony Tail Palm that I use to bring in during the winter. Last winter I left the potted palm outside. We had a very cold long winter. I placed the palm on the west side of the house under oak trees. Then this spring, I moved the plant to the East side in full sun. I thought this plant was dead. It had no leaves and the trunk which is about 3ft tall seemed lifeless. I felt that possibly the plant had frozen during the hard winter. I repotted in a larger pot, and watered it thourghly, at first every other day for about a week. Then to my supprise, little green shoots began to appear around the main trunk 3/4 way up the ball. I had not seen this before. Now that I have learned much about this plant, I want to plant outdoors. The plant survived the winter, but the main trunk no longer has palms. I think I will keep it potted, and move it again this winter to a sheltered area and out of the Northeastern wind. I think this plant may be aclemated enough to leave it outdoors. In the Florida Panhandle, we are the coldest city in the state during winter, and the hotest city in the state during summer.

Thanks Mallee for the advice. Will any fungicide work or would you recommend a certain one? Because it was under a ginko, I found ginko seeds and leaves in the crown. There were even worms coming out of the rot. The tree is planted at the end of a cement slab on a slight rise. Even though it is in clay soil, it is pretty well drained and no added amendments. I am also noticing little sprouts -not our native grasses but looks tougher-like maybe new seedlings (I did get a good amount of the existing soil and the tree had flowered before.) The main trunk looks very odd now. I few small newer whisps of green on the right crown where no rot is that I found, and on the soil line on the left, two tufts of green fronds. How will this become a tree again? Any thoughts? Wanting to keep this tree growing-need help. Sondra
