Kazooie, Just to give you another perspective, here at our ohana we use them as a target for throwing hatchets! There's two large pieces: the one on the bottom is set on its end and is about 3' tall; then on top of that is one set the long way, so the cut end is facing out-diameter is about 2.5'. DH and I like to throw knives and hatchets. It a great way to loosen up your back muscles after sitting all day. Just one more use of those old palm trunks...although the tiki gods sound like fun too.

They look ok to me. Tell the person you plan on gifting them to that they should quarantine them for a week or two before planting them. I do this with any plants that I buy, or that are gifted to me. Oh and the big one that attacks egg plants is not spider mites it is flea beetles. They leave holes in the leaves like no tomorrow. I had an egg plant that had them. I planted it far away from everything else in a guerilla hole. The weather killed it right as it was starting to set some good eggplants. It grew like mad anyhow.

Hello, I live close to Caboolture and am currently trying to get started with growing Foxtail Palms. I have had some success so far but am looking for more seeds to get a new batch going. If you are interested I can offer some 30cm high Foxtail Palms from last years batch. I don't have a great deal else to trade, otherwise I could give you some money for the bunch of seeds.
