Neighbour chopped down a 4m tall frangipani tree!

Hi all,

My neighbour sawed down her 4m tall frangipani tree this morning (what a terrible act!) as she wants to clear some space for a home extension. The tree was cut at the base and further cut into smaller pieces. The largest piece is the main trunk and 3 main branches (about 2m tall, 12 inches in diameter for the trunk and about 6 inches in diameter for main branches, no leaves).

I offered to take all her pieces as she was about to throw them away and was wondering if it is possible to root the main trunk after it is being cut from its roots?

Also there are 3 main branches that were cut from the trunk. They are not tall (about 1.5m tall and 6 inch in diameter) but they all have some new growth on them. Would they root too?

Thanks!
