I use FarmTek Greenhouse Supply and Novosel (linked below) but most all the seed companies like Gurneys, Harris, Johnnys, etc. sell basic starting supplies too. Why are they closing? Yes, I know how you feel. Hastings closed down their Birmingham store about 30 years ago. The last I knew, Hastings was still in Atlanta. Brooks Hdw in Bessemer closed down about 20 years ago. Thank goodness Berman Merchantile (feed, seed, tack, etc.) in Birmingham is still open. If and when Berman closes, it will be the sad end of an era in Birmingham area. Did everyone see the post about Libby Rich's Plant Odyssey problems? I saw Libby on TV news. She said her email has pulled in a lot of customers. I wish her all the luck in the world. I remember when she opened in the 1970s over on Clairmont Ave. by Bogue's Restaurant. We here is Birmingham are celebrating the opening of Pike's Nursery's big store but let's hope we don't lose Odyssey and other independents. My sympathies to you folks in Mobile county.
