The different coloured pokers are becoming more readily available in nurseries. However, your local nursery is likely to only have stock when they are in flower. Pokers are available throughout the year from several mail order nurseries. Here are two from Tasmania -

Many thanks, Wombat for your advice. I have looked at both sites and wow, what great choices, not only for kniphofias, but for heaps of other great perennials. I am going to have fun now, it's the deciding that will be hard to do!

If you don't mind waiting they grow quite readily from seed and there is quite a variety available apart from mixed packets. Reid's Rare Bulbs have a range too, but as I was looking for th address I saw that Lanbley's have 30 cultivars so definitely what you want.

Thanks so much for all your advice. I AM having a great time checking out all the sites and catalogues and, although it's not becoming, drooling as well! Oh, the decisions to be made, but I am definitely going to have ones now that are not all red. I have to say, though, that they are looking magnificent at the moment, so hope I can add different colours that will do as well. Happy gardening all.
