I have some of mine fanned out in a small wicker basket. The rest are displayed in a caddy that was probably designed to hold letters but is perfect for bookmarks as it it painted to look like a book shop.

Mine are in a tin in which some of my Christmas cards were packaged. They aren't actually displayed, but they are on my book shelf, some peek over the edge of the tin, and I know what they are and am happy and warmed each time I see them.

I like seeing my bookmarks because they were gifts from different friends and relatives. I have such cute and colorful ones that it really seems a shame to hide them. I keep them on my bookcase in a pretty ceramic bowl so I can see them or use them.

Thank you for the input. I was thinking of using some clever sort of standup holder, maybe a little bigger than a coffee cup. But I haven't found just the right piece yet.

You could always use a photo tree. In fact, I think I will hang some bookmarks up on mine and see how it looks.

I have a french bulletin board over my desk in the kitchen and I stick them in that. A french board is one that is criss-crossed with ribbons diagonally so that you just slip the corner of the bookmark behind a ribbon or two. This allows you to see them all!

netla- A photo tree...hmm. That just might work. Let us know how you like it.

yoyo- The french bulletin board is also intriguing. I don't own one of those, but I like the idea of being able to post something without sticking pins into it.

The bookmarks look pretty good on the the photo tree and would look even better on one that looks more like a tree and less like the offspring of a clothes-drying rack and an umbrella (which is what mine looks like).

I took a cork board and covered it with fabric. Then I ran ribbons diagonally across it in parallel lines - running in both directions so they crossed at places. I put in a push pin wherever they crossed. The ribbons allow me to stick book marks behind them so they are held securely, but I can still see and enjoy them and pull them out whenever I want something a bit different.

This link shows the general idea of what I did. The cool thing is that you can get fabrics/ribbons to match whatever decor.

I made mine quite large, enough to cover the entire area above my desk.

vtchebecca and yoyobon - I wish I was better with crafts. I would love to have one of those boards. I think I've seen them for sale, too, maybe at Target(?)

Sarah, here is a link. I think the actual tree I have has been discontinued, but it is from the same family as the one in the link, only it has three tiers of "branches" instead of just one. It looked magnificent with my best Christmas ornaments on it over the holidays.

I have mine in a pretty crystal flower vase that flares at the top. It is of medium height and sits on top of a five-shelf bookcase. The only problem is that I've been using it for awhile, and it is over filled.

I have told you all before that I had six frames of bookmarks done at a Deck The Walls shop at the mall, bm's on cream colored background with simple brass frames. Someday I will get more done.

A pretty vase it is! I like the french bulletin board -- and did find a small one at Target yesterday -- but also found a pretty red vase. So that's where the lovely bookmarks will go for now. Thanks again for great suggestions.

Right now, my bookmarks are in a (relatively) tidy pile on my bedside table, but as I tend to lose bookmarks, I am hesitant about using these as they are special to me.

Instead, I have a Taco Villa receipt. :-)
