If you get fruit, it may take years and years, and it will not be the same, necessarily, as the fruit from which the seed/pit was obtained. Both of these fruit trees are almost always grafted trees: a rootstock that is different than the grafted scionwood that produces the top part of your tree and produces the specific fruit you've eaten. Thanks for the pictures! You have some very nice trees! Good luck with all of them...I have to say even though I have pugged several mango trees and have done it often...even for me, every time I have to pug one of my trees its always nerve racking,lol...you always feel like there's a chance it won't bounce back or take forever to see new growths (especially in potted plants) they recover much slower...its a very drastic thing to do but once they start growing...you can see the wait and apprehension is well worth it for the overall shape and size you're trying to achieve...Good luck to you!! In California that would be a very healthy Manila Mango. IF purple it could be Valencia Pride. Two of the most common here. Where you are,anything that can take high humidity grows like a weed!

Mangos aren't from a rainforest climate. They're monsoonal, which means a hot, humid wet season (summer) with higher temperatures day and night, and a hot, low humidity, dry season (winter) with higher day temperatures and a lot lower at night. Too much humidity can cause fungal diseases so in general it's good to water the base of the plant and keep water off the leaves, especially in the colder months. Looking at the photos the mango looks good. They grow and then stop a while. New growth comes with a flush of new leaves. So it's growing normally. When your winter comes there wouldn't be much growth but still take it out into the sun each day as much as you can. Temperatures below 15C you should have it inside/warmer. It will actually survive lower temperatures, but better if warmer. A seed grown mango can take around 8 years to produce fruit. But then you can't guarantee the fruit will be much good.
