Hi Pam: That is a pretty pic of your Yellow Rose.
I do like that orange on the edge of the petals
I dont have one that looks like that so what would its name be.

Glad you liked it MM, its name is "Youngquinn" . Its how I got my GW name. My dogs name is Quinn so when I found there was a rose called Youngquinn I knew I had to have it!It has lovely glossy leaves and is a very vigorous grower. cheers pam

Ann, please don't think I'm attacking, I'm not. But there has been a lot written about Judith Regan and little of it flattering (and that includes her flammable relationships with men, her own husbands and husbands other than her own). Many people in the publishing world see her differently than she sees herself...I've seen her quoted as having said 'it's trash the American public wants, so I'll publish trash" long before this book was even an idea. And as for me hoping book sales would flat line, I heard on the news today that pre-release purchases have brought it into the top three best sellers at Amazon.

I grow many of the older Austins. In fact, I find myself to have an affinity with, if not a prefernce for some of the earlier English roses. My rose garden is just starting to bloom in the past two days. Many of the earliest blooming roses are the older English roses. The reds seem to be all opening, including; The Squire, Prospero, Wenlock, William Shakespear (Original) and William Shakespear 2000. But when he blooms, he's worth the trouble, 5 inch dark crimson blooms that take your breath away. The rose with the strongest fragrance in my garden is definitely climbing Crimson Glory. I'm not keen on red roses usually, but I spotted this one growing up a tree in the yard of an empty cottage near our downtown that was slated to be torn down. I like climbers, so I braved the "Keep Out" signs and the overgrown yard to get over to it. The fragrance almost knocked me over, and the dark velvety blooms are gorgeous. It is now in my garden (yes, the cottage was torn down, and that area is now a parking lot) growing around a rose folly in the center of a flower bed, so many of the roses are right at nose level. Of course, part of it has escaped the rose folly, and had grown up a Sombreuil that is growing next to it on a large arch, along with a dark purple clematis whose name I forget. The color combination in the Spring when all three are blooming is amazing. I have two very large bushes of Le Vesuve, which I love. I find the fragrance nice but not strong, and I do prefer the very strong classic "rose" fragrance of Crimson Glory. Jackie

Great idea for a name too (a rose) , it amazing how many of us use our dogs name, me too.
Senanga A Mistymorn was my favourite pet a Rhodesian Ridgeback Misty has been gone 6 years now.
Dont think they named a rose after her though, a lovely idea all the same maybe the next grey one
Yours is a nice rose I looked it up in my rose book, it says it a good disease resistant rose.

I have had this rose for some years now. I never expected it to grow as tall as it does but it is a rose that never gives me trouble with B.S. or rust.It is a great picking rose too. I didn't like it much when I first grew it but it's one of my favourites now Thanks for the nice picture.

I like the rose but it pales in comparison to Quinn. The only trouble I have with Border Collies is that they are supposedly more intelligent than poodles.......Oh well, I guess they do look smarter, no bows and no pom pom tails and heads. They probably don't need any attitude adjustment either!!!!!
