I am keeping these neighbours !!!!!

They have a surplus of watermelons.

Nothing like going into the coldroom on a hot and humid day and cutting a great slice of melon and knowing it was given to us by a wonderful neighbour. HOPE there is some left in our Cold room for Christmas !!!!!

MM, we had a coldroom on the farm when we left it but it was built into the house , the fellow who bought the farm had one but his was portable so we made a swap,
Wouldn't be without one, not much more to run than a fridge but you can keep so much more in it, especially in watermelon season LOL.
Great to go and stand in on a hot and steamy day too, I often find Henry in there after a stint of gardening.

Oh, I thought you were debating on digging them up with your 'round shovel' : ) Yes, your gardens are beautiful! I have looked at them before and am still very jealous of your hardscape: ) I would start your caladiums as soon as your can in pots inside. As soon as your soil reaches 60* I would pop them in the ground, in the pot or not. Maybe you can use pebbles or some other light 'mulch' where you plant them so in the fall you know everywhere you put this type of mulch you have bulbs to dig up? Or maybe you can use your drawing talent (which is awesome) and plot out where you planted them? Mine still do better in pots up here because it keeps their roots warmer. Do those ideas help? Rouge, I think your gardens work well with the interlock and the green in between them gives it an aged look. Maybe you're critical of it because you're too close to it and have to live with it when it's not your first, or maybe even second or third choice? I think it's always nice to have defined pathways around nice beds which that does offer you. But I know what you mean when you're not satisfied with something and have other visions of what it could be. What are you thinking of replacing it with? I'd be interested to see the layout and your thoughts on what's not working for you. I had the luxury of building a house and installing gardens and hardscape from scratch so didn't have to work around something that I didn't feel was quite right for my tastes,but I can imagine how you feel about it.

Can you live with a seam at the back and a minor color mismatch? If so, a good fabricator could probably insert a 1" strip of quartz (half of which would be under the cooktop. It would need to be supported underneath, but that's not rocket science. The metal trim strip at the back of the Bosch cooktop would likely draw the eye away from the seam. It might even be possible to hide two 1/2" filler strips completely under the front and back edges of the cooktop. Again, I think the trim on the Bosch cooktop would help achieve that. Salmon from one end of the continent and lobster from the other...this is one good swap. You'll like Bittman's book I bet, Robin. I bought one for the kid's roomate when she graduated high school and, of course, had to preview it for her. The trivet is beautiful, Catherine... nice choices.

Sounds like a fantastic idea I wish I had one especially today I think I would be in it right now.
Too many warm days in a row so that would be the ideal place for a short while.
