Thank you, Annette! Hope you have had a wonderful holiday and look forward to a very Happy New Year :)

I swore after getting rid of another chunk of daylilies this fall that I wouldn't add but 3 this year. Well, with this winter upon us now I may have to add a few to my list. The high today was in the teens and it's going to stay this cold for awhile. I had a Gerbera daisy in a pot in a very protected place that had over wintered outside up until this last killer front moved in. Now it's toast. On the bright side, I hope all the bad bugs are toast along with it........I'm not ready for spring yet. Still enjoying my vacation inside, but I do wish everyone a happy New Year in 2018 with good health for all their family and loved garden companions..........Maryl

A wish for Happy Gardening in a Glorious 2019, from Gloria. How wonderful!! Maybe, I will have those new-to-me Fruit Punch pink cherry tomatoes that I had hoped to have a couple of years ago. After several good years the Verde de Taglio chard should have done better in 2018. Maybe, I can get those plants back on track. If Purple Viking potatoes aren't gonna do well in their new location but Yukon Gold will exceed expectations, I can put more emphasis on the Yukons and, maybe, cast about and find another successful potato variety. The old veggie friends should be back. It will be warm and sunny. Happy 2019, Everyone! Steve

And the same to all of you here! Not to be mean ... but here, in our little sheltered coastal valley, roses are rejoicing that they have had some rain (which may be over for the year) and bursting out with bud and bloom . . . "De la Vina Mystery" (One of the many found "almost-La Reine" roses.)
