Here is a picture of the twins born on Wednesday. The mother has been letting the white face one (first born) nurse so that is a relief. We are keeping them in the barn for a few more days. You can hardly see the mother laying close to them. She is black. I named the twins Petunia & Pansy, thanks anjabee! kathleen, that is so cute about taking the calf picture to school! sandi, this is the second year for twins. They are so cute but more work if the mother rejects one. The white face calf was so muddy when we brought it up to the barn in the tractor bucket! anjabee, thanks for the name ideas. I wrote them down & even tho Blossom isn't a flower it is part of one and I like it! Your kitchen sounds so cute! hi2all, that is about how many we had before cutting back. Kathleen, I'm here finally. Had little GD overnight Fri and then did birthday lunch for DIL and a movie with DH last night. Love the red plates, can't believe you found them at Dollar Store. I have Dollar Tree and 99 cent stores--wonder if they have any? I'll have to check. The Paradise dishes are pretty and colorful--what a fantastic bargain you got. Loved the red square plates under them in the pic too. You are right, this place is so dead--thought it would be hopping by now with Halloween decs. I'm working on painting a couple-but nowhere near done yet. I'm off to a little craft show this AM then will have little GD this afternoon again. She's into "pretending" now, so we will be doing a jungle excursion to see what animals we can find. Her latest favorite game with Gramma. LOL Luvs

mrs.micki, I personally use a med to fine grade sandpaper. All you really need to do is scuff the surface. I use Kilz primer on almost anything I paint as it helps to hold the paint a lot better and keeps any imperfections from bleeding through, such as the knots on your desk. I also use a roller to paint as I like the texture it leaves. My hubby prefers to use a brush as he likes a more smooth finish. So it depends on what look you're after... and who is painting! Paint is very forgiving. If you don't like it, you can re-paint it. I have an old dresser that has been painted every color of the rainbow. The latest color is white. So I started playing with the Lucite a bit after getting it separated in shapes. I've had this bowl for years, and never knew what to do with it. It measures 22 inches across, and is 1/2 thick. Start of what looks like a moth or butterfly of some sort. Thank you all for your ideas, and comments.
