Administrator, is this site dead?

Messages are posted with no response. Emails sent direct to other posters but not responded to. Can we at least have a visitors counter so we know we are not sitting blindfold talking to an empty room? This used to be an active site where people offered help and at least socialised.

g'day snoopy,

yup it sure has got very quiet now for a very long time, i only look in maybe once weekly sometimes less depends if i forget to or not.

i gave up on the internal e/mails as for us aussies i don't think they have worked for a long time.

since the old management sold things have gone downhill, and by the seems as people here have been complaining for a long time now there is no interest from that end to do much well anything.

and i think the board that people went to also shut up shop?

my chatting occurs on other boards and forums.

Is putting the state in the above little box the only way to say where I'm from? I had to sign up as living in California with the zip code 90210 coz it's the only one I know in the US. Can we ask the site owners if when we say we're from Australia in the sign up area that we get the option of the Australian States so that our post codes are okay?

Weekly cutting to ~ 3.5". I only water to supplement rain to give lawn ~1"/week. When I water, I do deep & infrequent. Last year I fertilized with inorganic w/Dimension just before the lilacs bloomed. Then with Milorganite ~6 weeks later. Then inorganic w/Dimension in the fall to try to head off this spring's poa. The worst areas are shaded, so things stay somewhat wet (that's where the moss was worst). But, other areas are full sun (maybe a bit of a dip on an otherwise elevated area...maybe another site for water aggregation). The area with dry blades but no clumping is full sun. The area with matted grass that easily pulled up was also full sun. Definately no fungicide. Two years ago I used grub preventer. Last year I saw no sign of grubs so I skipped it (I have 2 young children, so I was trying to keep pesticides to a minimum. We had a warmish autumn, so it is possible that when my landscaper stopped cutting my lawn, there may have been a little more growth after that mixed with other conditions to cause these problems. Not a lot of snow, but things have been pretty wet (I'm in the north east, in a suburb of New York City). Thanks

As Mike said above, tree roses are almost always composed of 2 grafts that join 3 distinct 'pieces': The rootstock, the interstock (trunk) & the scion (the portion that produces the bloom). If your plant was a 36-inch rose tree from J&P it's almost certain that the interstock was Grifferaie grafted onto Dr Huey rootstock. If it was a 24-inch tree, it's conceivable that both the roots & the interstock were Dr Huey, altho Grifferaie is often used on those too. If you planted the tree deeply enough, I suppose it would be possible for the interstock to strike roots, but I think that's unlikely. I seriously doubt that there's any possibility De la Grifferaie will be the variety that comes back in your garden. I agree with berndoodle that you can expect Dr Huey to be making another of his unwelcome house calls.

Right loosing administrative rights to those (2) areas indicates a virus may still be present, even though the pop ups are gone this is common with certain virus what it does is changes the windows registry an places restrictions on these 2 items. Your best bet as suggested is to go to a spyware forum & post a hijack this log, in that log you will more then likely see the 2 (06) entries that confirm the restrictions---no need to reinstall the operating system for this.

I have always had problems with Freecycle, I suspect the problem is actually with the Freecycle you are trying to sign up with. I suggest you try another Freecycle or two to see if you can get signed up OK. Besides the one 'local' one, I signed up with 3 or 4 others that are in the area (small towns) about 30-60 minutes away. Once you get signed up, you can get 'every' post emailed to you, or a daily digest of posts, or nothing at all. I just set my local one to send me a daily digest of the posts and opted to get nothing via email from the others. Sue

like talking to a brick wall mate! this was asked when they first changed that protocol way way back when they took over.

but as i observed again this morning this is about the only hot post in the whole group of aussie/nz forums that i can see, certainly not enough on topic posts to be considered a viable forum.

some of us are hanging around in the usa side of things, even there posts have fallen off.
