I don't think it will grow any faster in a bigger pot. Honestly that one looks a little overgrown already. Succulent plants, and Crassula ovata (Jades) in particular is a very slow growers. Their snail's pace make them require very, very little food to grow. So little in fact, that in the organic component of your soil mix, there is probably enough food for that plant for years! Instead of more food, succulents need more sun and warmth to attain their best growth potential. There are other reasons to repot though (tired of the shell, no drainage hole, you want to use a better soil mix, etc). In that case, just follow Josh's advice.

We had a female guinea hen for several months---one winter--it just moved into our yard; we did not buy it & we asked all over the neighborhood if anyone was missing theirs, but no takers--- Anyway, besides pecking at bugs, this one decided it had to roost on the roof rack of the Dodge Caravan, and poop all over the roof all night. Also, it was lonely all by itself so it spent hours staring at its reflection in the side of the dark blue van. When it wasn't pooping on the van it was pooping on the driveway, and family would track this into the house. Finally one day she would not get off the van, when I had to drive somewhere---it stayed on the roof rack, while I drove slowly down the street---must have been quite a sight---it finally scrambled off in front of the neighbor's house. A couple of days later I went to see what had happened next---I found the place where it had roosted in a small evergreen overnight (lots of poop on needles & under tree) and asked the neighbor---sure enough the next day it had turned up in her yard. She did not like the way it looked like a vulture (they do) and chased it out. Never heard of it since. If I had a larger yard I would be happy to have 2 guinea hens--not one; they are so social they have to have at least one buddy---but you have to keep them away from the vehicles and wipe your feet if you have been where they are.

I don't see any reason you couldn't. If you have a LOT though, crushing too many at once could cause an odor. Snails don't smell very appealing when smooshed. As for the calcium though, yes. Snail shells are filled with calcium, although they will take a while to break down. I add empty shells from deceased aquatic snails (freshwater, not saltwater) all the time when cleaning the aquarium.

I've been battling snails for years! They de-head and kill all my seedlings grown from seed. I tried Sluggo and other products like it and didn't like it's side effects on my plants. The plants tend to turn VERY dark green and get crisper and wrinkled. It doesn't kill the plants, just mutates them for a few weeks before they recover and grow normal again. I wonder if it's the iron in the sluggo product? Last year, I tried several holistic methods and had success with a couple. They sell little tiny shot-glass sized plastic cups and I buried them to the rim and filled with beer. I bought beer and also made my own mash with yeast, water and honey. The store-bought beer worked pretty well but some plants were still being chewed off. I tried surrounding the seedling stems with sand paper and that worked until it rained. The grit washed off the sand paper quickly. I tried putting leaves from mint plants surrounding each seedling stem. I sprinkled garlic and cayenne pepper on the ground. Those 3 things did not work at all. But placing pennies vertically around each stem worked 100%. The pennies placed horizontally worked too, until it rained and soil washed over the copper and the snails crossed the barrier. It took 3 or 4 pennies placed vertically in a square around each stem to ensure the seedling survived. My garden is 150 feet long and it will be annoying as all get out, but I will be planting pennies this year, along with each plant. I'll use Sluggo outside the garden, a couple feet away from the perimeter.
