Christine - So sorry for your rollercoaster ride. I planted Forsyth Frostbound in the ground late last fall, after growing it in a pot for several years (I've forgotten how many). When I first got FF, it seemed to bloom for a long time, so it must have had quite a few buds back then. I started with a double fan and have only three fans now after at least five years. A lot of daylilies don't multiply well in pots, and FF was one of them. Daylilies grown in pots tend to become root bound and lack nutrients - especially when someone like me doesn't fertilize them. FF was a weakened plant when I put her in the ground late in the fall, and then we had one of the longest, coldest, wettest winter I've ever known here. So her scapes were really short and had only 7-8 buds. I won't really see a true performance of this plant until next spring. Some of my plants are not grown under the best conditions. I tend to mistreat newcomers by setting seeds of them and keeping them in pots far too long. I have no idea what conditions FF is grown in Mantis's garden. If you really love the flower, contact a commercial grower and ask about the performance. Marietta Gardens, where I bought the plant, claims it is an excellent daylily. Excellent how, I don't know. I do know that she is very pollen and pod fertile, and I've sold a lot of seeds over the years with her as a parent. So, in that respect, FF is excellent. Debra

I'm going to throw out one because I love Scotland. It's an oldie called, "I Know Where I'm Going" which is a precursor to another great one, "Local Hero." Another Scottish one, "Dear Frankie." Some others--Outsourced, Hector's Search for Happiness, The Whole Wide World, French Kiss, and of course, Dirty Dancing. I also liked the Addams Family Values movie, which has a fantastic summer camp parody. Since summer means road trips to me, some others are "The Electric Horseman" and "Smoke Signals" and "Harry and Tonto." And the all time "fun day" movie is "Roman Holiday." Maybe "Starman" for another road trip kind of movie. or how about "If It's Tuesday it Must Be Belgium" which is an oldie but a classic. I love old movies so YMMV. I suppose maybe "A River Runs Through It" but that one is sad. "The River Why" is a good scenery movie if you like fishing, but my SO thought it was boring. Apparently James Duncan, the author of the novel, didn't like it either and sued to have his name disassociated with it. The book is great if you like water and fish. Speaking of so so movies with good scenery, my dad loves "The Proposal." I think he has a mild crush on Sandra Bullock. Don't we all!

I saw Breakfast at Tiffany's when it first came out, and many times since. I remember buying a sterling silver telephone dialer when I was at the Tiffany' in San Francisco. When I lived in Los Angeles, I couldn't go to Beverly Hills without stopping in. I used to buy presents there -- very inexpensive. When I got married, we went to Tiffany for my wedding ring. I ran into their online catalog on a website, so I took a look. Everything was incredibly expensive. I remember not being wealthy, but I could afford small things there. Now I couldn't afford anything. My friends knew about my attachment to the movie, so when I got married I got several things from there. I love watching the movie titles, and Moon River is still my favorite song. My attachment to Tiffany's is sentimental. But I have no interest in going there anymore.
