Interesting thread, Adamark! That fluff always drives me crazy, and it's good to know it's not necessary to remove it, though I probably still will if I'm giving the seeds away. Sunrisedigger, I have Asclepias tuberosa 'Gay Butterflies' in several places in the garden, but here are my favorite combinations. Butterfly Weed with Geum 'Fireball'. The Geum is usually just finishing up as the Butterfly Weed is starting to bloom. Butterfly Weed with Daylily 'Black Eyed Stella' Asclepias tuberosa with Gaillardia 'Oranges & Lemons' Hope this helps some! Bonnie

Hi, josette-sc 8 I would suspect that your office is brightly lit, and of stable conditions that promote its over all condition and growth. Further more some Christmas cactus and other cacti sold in stores are hybrids, and tend to be easier to grow then non-hybrids. Nearly all of my cacti are non-hybrids, and a few do pose a challange to me. To tell you the truth, I get a lot of questions about how I grow my plants, and most often about my cacti. I do relate that setting them outside may seam like a lot of work for most people, but the end result does show up in larger faster growth and more blooms for someone who lives this far north, in relation to that most cacti's southern origins. farmerted361:)

Shule, I forgot to mention in my initial post that Reimer's is not generally considered a valid source for info, or seeds for that matter. I can't speak to Dave's Garden. I don't really use it. Posts about looking for, offering and trading seeds on this site is encouraged. It's how a lot of us get to try out new varieties. Selling seed or any other good is forbidden. I haven't grown out the cross yet. I plan on growing out a few (maybe a dozen) plants this coming season. With respect to your question did I save any seeds, yes I did. Am I willing to trade for some, sorry, unfortunately no. I know the seed is unstable and won't knowingly distribute any and risk them contributing to the already heavy polluted chile varieties out there. There are already too many "new" cool sounding named unstable varieties floating around. Bill
