If you follow the DH canes down to the base and below ground to where they attach to the roots then rip them off they should not come back. Don't just cut them You want to damage the cells so they won't grow back. That should take care of him and the graft will send up new growth then. If there are still some canes with the original blooms there is hope for the plant. The sooner you take care of it the better though.

That is Crypt. Elaine. It's supposed to have nice pink margins on a brown plant, but I have a hard time getting it to do that. Mine tend to look more like yours do, either plain brown fosterianus or mottled pink all over (usually just when they're young).

Oh no! I never got your e-mail!!! I figured I was just too late. Maybe it went into my evil spam folder that seems to only catch e-mails I want and spits all spam into my inbox. Dang it. Try e-mailing me your info again and if I don't get it in the next day I'll know it's my evil email filtering. I'd love to see you Brug, I'm not sure what mine was because I'm bad about keeping labels but I think it was an african something or other, it may be pink but it may be that peach yellow/creamy. It has yet to flower and I can't for the life of me remember, too much excitement at the flower show and all. They had the water garden club of so texas there too and I soo want to dig a hole and plunk a pond in my back yard. I'm so easily distracted...

So here are my thoughts now that I've slept on it. 1.) this is for my daughter as a big girl room, not a nursery. Sorry if that was misleading because of the crib. I am planning ahead..I have the bedding, she's just not quite ready yet (nor am I), I just HATE the white walls and I'm ready for new carpet!. 2.) I think I may just paint the whole room the one color, although I like the idea of the 2 pinks broken by chair rail. While yes it will be a lot of pink, I do think it will be pretty. Online marshmallow bunny looks intense, it is actually pretty light. I was initially going to go with BM elephant pink, but it has just a slight gray undertone, given the name, and MB is just the right amount of pink. 3. I did see this great blog post about using the patterned/colored duct tape to create patterns, so that has potential in the future as well. The most pink will really be on the wall with the bed and the wall to the left with the dresser. The other walls are small, one with the window and the other with the closet and door..not much pink on those walls. someone on houzz suggested building a window seat with storage...how cute would that be! :) decisions, decisions.
