Mmmmmm!!! I love how the picotee edge gets darker from the center to the outside!

zone is simply predicted low winter temp on the coldest day ... big city name would be more helpful ... the heat is making the flowers fade too fast.. and there isnt much you are going to do about that ... and fragrance is variable .... [my most fragrant flowers were the last of the season in mid to late fall ... and the flowers lasted a very long time because of how cold it was in my MI] .... i dont understand if you see burn on flowers or leaves .. if flowers.. its just the heat on very tender petals ... not much difference if you got a bad storm.. and rain beat up the flowers .. imo.. thats one heck of a plant.. though you are frustrated with the flower show ... you still ought to be doing the happy dance on the vigor of the plant alone ... mine never got that big .... ken

Double Delight was one of the first HTs I grew, too. Oh, that fragrance!! With a few exceptions, I don’t choose plants with bright colors. I do have some bright, historical daylilies. And I adore HT Double Delight and Tea rose Rosette Delizy. Here in Portland, the latter two roses don’t really go all bicolor neon/firey red. That suits me fine. Our cool and cloudy climate keeps many of the photosensitive Teas and HTs on the muted side of vibrant. DD makes a manageable plant in the garden, she blooms a lot, her blooms are elegant and she’s relatively healthy (healthy for a HT). In Missouri, she’ll likely be a somewhat brighter, and very lovely, specimen. She’s perfect for a bit of pizazz in the garden. I‘d go for DD, Brandon. Did I mention the intoxicating fragrance? Carol
