I'm a "red" person so I've grown many of the ones mentioned. Most of them are gone now because I didn't like their growth habits, or they didn't bloom enough, or they didn't like my climate or they just didn't do a thing for me. After all those my favorite has always been Chrysler Imperial and you can never go wrong with it. Such a nice mannerly growth habit, never too tall (around 5 feet), upward vase shaped bush with no awkward cane angles, better then average resistance to B.S. (but must be sprayed religiously for PM in spring), with the blooms in cool weather taking on the look of the plushest deep ruby red velvet. The blooms are produced in continous flushes until temperatures exceed 95. Her fragrance is legendary. There is only one rose that I've planted that matches Chrysler and improves upon it (in some ways) and that rose is Rouge Royale. Sturdier canes, longer vase life, better disease resistance (no PM or BS here but I spray. Not religiously mind you which is how I know about CI and PM). The minus on Rouge Royale is as patrick stated. The blooms don't last long on the bush, otherwise Rouge Royale would have replaced Chrysler as my favorite red rose.

Pretty sunflowers. Cute little bee on the first one. Brenda, I am sure I will be ordering more daylilies next year, once I see what happens with my garden this year. This year we are trying to concentrate on the back around the deck area. I thought these little ones would look good along the walk at the bottom of the steps, with lavender mustead, maybe. You know, iris_gal, MS always had wonderfully healthy foliage, so maybe it was just in a high nitrogen pocket in it's old bed (?) Thank-you for your considerate words, Shadow. We're still a couple of wrecks (I even had a nosebleed to add to the party today) and we still didn't finish planting those *$%# pines! I hope that it doesn't bog down the load time when I add to my posts rather than starting another. Here's what was open today: 'Garnet Jewelry' (not sure where the "garnet" comes in, but I really like it) 'Sailor' 'Striped Moonbeam' (an OGB- AB - bought it for the foliage which is variegated, but with irregular white pinstripes (not the regular blotches) I'd have a photo of the foliage, but it looks crummy right now) 'Merit' (again) 'Cheerful Doll' 'Devilish Nature' 'Easter' (yep, it's an SDB blooming with the first TBs - as is 'Flirting Again') 'Decipher' (really dark this year - looks black from afar) 'Decipher' buds (the spathes really stood out from across the garden - very dark (as are the spathes on 'Cheerful Doll')

The beard colour is significantly different, even allowing for photographic differences. The falls on CA have a midline stripe rather than a wider wash of darker colour. This could be attributed to age of bloom and light factors while photographing. The CA in the linked photo has no obvious haft marking. I would think that would be the most conclusive difference, as yours is clearly marked. You are correct to think it is likely to be an iris readily available locally. You also should consider the time of bloom and height of the bloom stalk. These should be fairly consistant for the particular cultivar, in your area. It might also be worth watching out for it in other peoples gardens for comparrison. These are 2 pretty little SDB's that you are growing. Why not simply enjoy them without their names? Spend some time looking at SDB's in catalogues and online and you will soon discover the extraordinary similarity between many named irises. Photography can also be very misleading, making the same bloom look quite different from a different angle, and 2 vastly different blooms look quite the same.
