I don't know many of them - although some things are easy. There is a Moss/Fungi forum, it is kind of slow - but it's worth a shot. You have to put the photo in the gallery and then I'd put a message on the discussion board for it to let people know to go look in the gallery. Here is a link that might be useful: Moss and other stuff forum

That is another hard-cane dendrobium. The media it is in looks too wet and appears broken down. Grow this plant dry. Let it completely dry out before watering. I do not fertilize except when it is making new green growth (which yours is not doing.) These are high light plants and need strong light. I grow mine outdoors in summer in almost full sun all day. You need more than 1 20W bulb. Put it in your sunniest window, and don't water again until dry. I don't fuss with these plants over winter. After flowering, I cut back on water and let it sit until early spring when it will start growing again. After flowering, it probably will not show any signs of growth until Spring. Enjoy the flowers and let the mix dry out. Jane

Thanks for the reply. This model has one bar nut. The chain is still sharp---throws decent size chips The bar oil is being consumed at an appropriate rate---when I run out of gas, I'm almost out of oil. The brand of bar oil is new to me though---Poulan---it was cheap I always checked the tension at the start of the day and kept an eye on it during the day. I've never really had any problems with this saw---till just recently. Each time the chain became slack while cutting, I found the tensioner was loose (would take several turns to tighten) but the bar nut was still tight. I thought the tensioner or the tensioning screw might be stripped but the next time the chain fell off, I found the screw had gone missing but the bar nut was still tight. When I replaced the screw, I was able to determine that the tensioner was not stripped and I thought that the new screw---which snugged down just as it should---was going to solve the problem. Two tanks of gas later, off comes the chain and the screw is missing again. The bar nut is still tight. I asked about the drive sprocket thinking the chain might be moving around on there and allowing the chain to vibrate loose as the tension varies according to where it's riding on the sprocket??? All this happened right before leaving for work yesterday so I didn't have time to look into it any further. While at work, I posted the question so the night wouldn't be a total waste ;-) Thanks for the advice on the sprocket. I read somewhere that if you replace the drive sprocket, do not use your existing chains---buy new ones. Do you agree with that? Just a couple more questions: Is there an accepted best place on-line to buy parts? Should I stick with Stihl parts or is aftermarket stuff OK? Is there a pictorial/tutorial on replacing the drive sprocket? It is time for a new bar and the drive sprocket is original so I'm thinking of replacing bar, tensioner and sprocket anyway. Thanks again!

Mary, If you've follow this forum for a while, you will have the opportunity tio read many discussions about definitions: weed, invasive, wildflower, native, introduced. Fascinating stuff to me, but these discussions often get compliated (and sometimes heated). While some think that a weed is just 'a flower out of place', the term 'weed' refers to plant that tend to colonize disturbed habitats -- which by definition includes all yards and gardens. It's not about appearance: a beautiful flowering plant can be a terrible weed. If you think of it this way, it doesn't matter whether your plant is the native or non-native dayflower, it is weedy if it behaves like a weed. The non-native dayflower is definitely weedy (but not a major problem, to my knowledge). I don't know about the native species, but many there are many well-behaved native species that are closely related to non-native weeds. A good example is the native honeyuckles vs the Asian honeysuckles.
