Well then, it has been a few months since the OP first posted but getting back to their issue. It sure sounds to me like he/she was watering too frequently (daily) but at the same time was not giving them enough water (watering shallowly instead of deeply). This was evidenced by the larger tomatoes having blossom end rot and the cherry fruits cracking after a rain. Both of which are caused by inconsistent soil moisture and having the soil go from being dry to moist to dry again (or vice versa). Dry soil and lack of available soil moisture means the plant cannot effectively distribute calcium to all parts of the plant which in turn causes blossom end rot. When the soil is dry and it rains there is a surge of water available and the fruit swells and cracks. If the soil was kept consistently moist then the blossom end rot and the cracking would not be as big of an issue. There is no evidence of this in the OP's photo. On the contrary, the leaves of the plant look healthy. It is highly doubtful that the OP's plants are being overwatered. Rodney

The USDA Zone numbers are actually based on the lowest temperature in the winter. They have nothing to do with the highest temps in the summer. As a result, the zone numbers are especially useful for perennials, and assessing freeze tolerance. While those numbers can give a general feel for summer gardening conditions, they are by no means accurate in that regard. Yep, your soil looks bone dry. But I don't think that's your problem. Tomatoes will wilt significantly when they dry out. Yours aren't wilted. I have to suspect a fungal infection for the brown spots. But yes, container plants ALWAYS need added fertilizer. I'm surprised they grew that big without any. Garden soil has organics that, if outside, degrade and release some nutrients, but a container plant doesn't have the biological activity to do that degradation well. Tomatoes lacking nutrients just don't grow.

Make sure it is above 70 degrees where it is growing. Also, the plant looks very large for that small container. I recommend re-potting it and try to get it in the ground ASAP. Something similar happened to my tomato seedlings, and after I re-potted them, they did better. After putting them out in the garden, they really started looking healthy then. Be sure that before putting them out in the garden, you harden them off by placing them in the shade and slowly move them out into the sun over a week.

How many plants are in that pot?! Your potting mix looks dry.... If there is no sign of virus in the stems (discoloration or deformities), I would assume they're stressed from the extreme heat and wind. Insufficient water would make the situation worse and the plant(s) could dry up like this. I'd make sure it (they) had a good soak. :) If they are determinates, they could be producing their fruit and just giving up because of the conditions.
