Thanks for all the help. I am going to try using one of those steraline tubs and cut a hole in the side for easy entry. I cant really move the box, the bathroom is to small and this box is in the only room that does not have carpet, there are several more down here in the basement but he does not come down here much. My two female cats stay down here most of the time (my office is down here) they do pick on him (they have claws) he outweighs them by a ton but he's kinda a wimp. So the 3 other cats use mostly the boxes down here but will also use "his" box upstairs. He does at times come down here and wee outside the boxes. It's a sealed concrete floor that slopes to a drain I can just wash down with water Yes we have seen him actually do the deed however he does often wee over the top of the box too. I noticed the health food store in town has that feliway and I will try that as well. I am laughing at the Prozac, maybe just give it to hubby instead LOL, seriously though will talk to the vet about it! Honestly this is hubbys favorite cat and the only one of the 4 HE brought home. .Abby is safe till spring at least, it is 0 outside now and the ground is frozen solid, I heard him tell Abby he better "get it together before he can dig him a hole" he calls him Junior so he really does love his cat.I have told hubby he will have to make that decision because I will not, his response was "you want me to make the decision so you can hate me forever for killing the cat" UUUGGGGG I wish the cat had a 401K, pension and SS......we would have no problem.

trancegemini: I believe they did the fluid treatment this way because they wanted that quick boost to try and help him want to eat and to see if he would tolerate the treatments...I spoke with him yesterday evening after I typed that last message and the vet said that it should have helped, the bad diarrhea accident was not a good sign either he said and it seems his kidneys are shutting down. The bacteria they found in his stool is on the bottom the list and is not really the problem at this point. My questions to him were would have more fluids helped him, he said no. We discussed the Euthanasia options that I can have him cremated or buried. I could either keep his ashes or have him cremated with other animals and his ashes scattered at a park. I feel rushed to make this decision because of stupid work and social conflicts. I really don't want to have to do it tomorrow and have to go back to work on Friday...I can do it Friday evening but then my boyfriend feels bad because he has a show to play Friday night and doesn't want to leave me at home crying and depressed...but I also feel like I'm being cruel to let him starve until Saturday. I really want to take him to the park or something and just sit there and soak in the fresh air, my boyfriend doesn't seem like its a good idea he basically said that its not like Loki will enjoy it. I just wanted to do something special one last time before I end my best friends life. I just feel so selfish and cruel. I wish my boy could just tell me somehow that its going to be ok and that I should just let him go. But its so hard when he perks his ears and lifts up his head and that tail starts wagging when he sees me. Annz: Thank you I know that if I talk to the vet that gave him the treatment he'll tell me what he would choose for his own dog. He told me about his dog when I was in his office getting a second opinion on his leg condition. He said they suspected his dog had a brain tumor just from all the signs he exhibited, he opted not to do an MRI or surgery because going through vet school he did some brain surgeries and he knew how extensive and harsh they were and didn't want to put his dog through that. After that I really felt this vet was a truly caring compassionate person, the other vet just doesn't have that good of a bed side manner. I always felt I was rushed and when I asked questions at times I felt like he just kinda of brushed them aside or he'd give me all this info that left me standing there saying huh?? Even though its almost $100 more to go to the more compassionate vet I'm leaning towards that option. Though I think I will call the other vet just to let him know what we tried and what he thinks.

Where I live dog attacks happen and often end badly. My town requires 3 reports before they get involved with citations, providing it didn't involve something very serious. My dog was attacked and required an emergency visit. I reported it. Unfortunately, the next 2 attacks didn't report. After the last one involved a child, the bad dog owners moved out in the middle of the night. No dummies there. If you have a humane officer or animal control department, see if you can get some assistance with ideas on how to proceed. They deal with this every day. These people work for you, the tax payer. You may need to take this farther to make safety changes. What if this was a kid? document the incident and keep a copy just for the future. You may not need it, I hope not. Notes on a calendar are fine. But, you need to protect your self. Is the dog outside all the time? Is it tied up when they aren't home? Some cities have strict tie up laws. Can you change your walk time? We had to do that. Some owners are oblivious to dogs moods and attitude. Other owners are down right scary. Some, like my neighbor, believes leash laws apply to everyone else but him. invisible fence requires a battery in the collar to zap the dog if they cross the line. Owners forget to change the batteries so the dog may not have gotten the zap. People not want to get involved. During my attack, I backed out into traffic hoping it would stop those dogs. Only when I started screaming "fire" did i hear the owner call the dogs. I know he heard the whole attack. No one helped. I walked home with my bleeding dog and trying to remain upright. I was terrified and 15 years later, still very anxious when i walk my dog. i used to love walking my dog 2 miles a day. No more. So be careful and realize the leash is an extension of your arm. Your fear runs down your arm and into the leash. Your dog feels the negative energy and in turn can project aggressive feelings you might not sense. I have found talking or singing to her when we approach a crazy dog behind a fence helps keep her brain focused on me and it calms me down, too. If its loose, I get the heck out of Dodge ASAP. No easy answers.
