What a Magnificent Tree this is.

Took this Pic in the main street of Montville up there in those beautiful picturesque Glass House Mountains.

Ok so the Jacaranda is on that list here in Qld, but there are so many and by the looks of it, its older than me.

And the hills are alive with the colour of Lilac, its in the air and on the ground so pretty:

And here is one of the local residents How good it that !! A Baby "Kookaburra" seeing its so fluffy.

There are so many there. Its Georgous what do you all reckon.

Yes the Jacarandas are looking particularly good everywhere. I love your kooka and the flowers are all wonderful.

What a beautiful show. Do you mean that Jacaranda is also a forbidden tree in Qld? Love the kooka and all the others too. That red is almost like Altissimo, I wonder if it is sport? The Parade roses are great, aren't they. I have lost one of ours, might get that one to replace it if I can.

It is better to transplant when things are in a dormant phase than when in active growth. If you need to put a shed there, cut it down. There is nothing about it that is worth the energy and expense of trying to move it. Plant a new one in a better spot if it makes you feel better.

Chamaedoreas are among my top five indoor palms. They are even surprising cold tolerate..., for a tropical palm. I forgot to take indoors a bamboo palm (another popular Chamaedorea species), last autumn and it was fine after being covered in a November snowfall.

Someone could probably id it now if you’d show buds and twigs. Also if you’d tell us if we’re right about seeing long thorns on it that would be helpful. If it was an evergreen killed by cold I’d expect mummified foliage or the ground to be carpeted with dead leaves. Also, if it had berries it must have had flowers. Can you describe them?

Am I seeing things, how did Alison and Tricia manage to answer my post before I put it on.
I wonder who's clock is wrong it must be because of Day-Light Saving starting today.
But Alison lives near here. Another of life's mysteries.

Yes Alison everywhere you look the jacaranda's are flowering.
Tricia Yes to you too, shame really being such a pretty tree but we have to look after Australia;
I have seen a pic of that red rose you mention and it could be a sport.
It also goes by the name Royal Bassino I think...Cheers..MM.

Jacarandas are so beautiful in full flower especially when they are planted next to a Sily Oak, the blue and gold go so well together.
the Bonica is worth the wait, so pretty.

The jacarandas are beautiful at the moment, they're dotted all round the hills here, either ones that have seeded by themselves or have been planted by old falling down homesteads.

The kooka is cute. We have a cheeky one, along with a butcher bird, that comes in for a feed when my son feeds the magpies. It is funny to watch them grab the food and then try and hide it under the mulch to stop the others getting it.

The roses are beautiful, you must have a lot.

So lovely MM,we have one a lot smaller out the front,(Jacaranda).Kookas, they are tops aren,t they,all character,have never seen Bonica before so rich looking,have heard of the others very pleasant to look at especially the colour of the little Parade rose,nice pics,greencroc.

Thanks everyone: GH I only have 39 Roses so few compared to some of our members that have hundreds.
Marion I agree with that colour scheme I have seen it in the wild and it does look good.
Yes Jacaranda's are colourful greencroc I have six and I dread the day they say chop them down.
Bonica is a terrific rose for SE Qld greencroc I have two patio standards and they are very hardy.

Hi MM I just love all your pics. I used to have Jacerandah when I lived in the Blue Mountains so lovely, they are quite frost tender mine had a dark red Bouganvillia climbing through it, the parade rose is very beautiful as are all the others

Jacarandas are one of my favourite trees but look even more stunning next to an Illawarra flame tree in flower.

Love the baby kooka. I hear over here in the west it is a possibility that they might be reclassified as native even though they were introduced here from the east, but they've been here almost since the beginning of settlement and are entrenched as part of our bushland ecology.
