Beautiful Nancy! I grew some one year and while I absolutely adore this plant/tree, my yard was much too small to accommodate it. Mine got to 10-12' tall. They were disease/insect free for the most part and remained gorgeous throughout the summer. Fall arrived too quickly for seed to set which was just as well cuz I would have been too tempted to grow it again LOL! I'm such a sap for a good looking man....I mean, plant.

Jane, Id be interested in that contact also, Thanks from Kris I recently planted some seeds of Cassia sp. Lakefield from near Cooktown, it is a rare tree Cassia similar to C. queenslandica but with less leaflets. Anyway, I poured boiling water over them and only 1 seed germinated. I have since planted more seeds and just soaked them, it seems that they germinate fine without boiling water, at least the more rainforestt species such as C.marksiana, sp. Paluma C.queenslandica and sp. Lakefield. I havent tried C.tomentella or C.brewsteri from seed. Cheers from Kris

What an incredible plant. Popcorn cassia is one of my favorites, but I've never had any grow very big or produce flowers between caterpillars and cold. I just bought two fairly large plants from my favorite nursery while visiting Central FL, but I know that once I have caterpillars the flowers and new growth will be toast. I can't buy many host plants locally, but it gets expensive even if they were available. I would love to get seeds from you to grow smaller ones in pots that I can rotate into enclosures and let the cats eat protected from wasps that are so prevalent. It's always frustrating to have cats eat the best parts of gorgeous plants and blooms only to be eaten right before they are ready to transform.
