Please help me with this! I got a Kentia Palm about two and a half months ago from Home Depot. It is about 6 feet tall and came in a 5 gallon bucket which it is still in. Every since I have had it, all of the smaller outer leaves have been slowly turning brown and drying up. I water it as soon as the soil gets dry, and it is in the middle of a room that has a bunch of windows but it is not in direct sunshine. How much water does it need? (oz's) Does it need any direct sunlight? Because it is so tall, the very top leaves are barely grazed by the air from the heating vent, but that doesn't seem to be significant enough to effect it in this way. All the browning leaves are at the bottom of the plant. The leaves are not browning from the tips, but more so overall just slowly turning brown-green then to completely brown. Attached are a couple of pictures. PLEASE HELP! I got this as a very special birthday present, it is a center piece in my living room, and I love this plant very much and want to have it healthy for a long time! Thank you very much :)

I don't know what is causing the dry tips, but that does not look like a kentia palm to me. It looks like a majesty palm.

Hi There, I moved this Kentia (I believe it's Kentia at least) palm into my home about 2 months ago. After about 3 weeks a low down set of leaves went mostly brown which I assumed to be shock, but I'm unsure. Now it seems that the palm is starting to develop yellow/brown patches on more of the leaves, and the top frond is drooping. Some fronds do seem entirely unaffected though. I'm watering the palm roughly every 2 weeks, I try to test the soil to see if it's dry for an inch or two then water, often I feel lower than two inches is slightly moist but not damp. It's situated next to a window but recieves little to no direct sunlight. I haven't repotted it at all and it is in the same soil as it originally came in (whilst looking very healthy) Any advice would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

Thank you everyone, I think i have overwatered and what I though was webbing was actually mould in the soil. Will look at fungicide spray and possibly repotting? I have removed the top layer of soil atm and have moved the plant to a spot which gets a bit more sunlight!
