These two Anemones opened last week before we left Australia.

So beautiful, my father in law was a market gardener in Dawlish, Devon for many years. The owner of the gardens made a lot of money by growing and selling anemones to Covent Garden. Will you be about to go there Misty? How are you enjoying UK so far.

Lovely little flowers Misty,
I didn't plant any Anemones but only a week after I planted
lots of bulbs I notice they are starting to appear.I don't know if that is good or bad as they havn't had time to develop roots that I believe are necessary to produce good flowers. Have a great time-you should have nice weather this time of year

The hens know what they have to do. We normally open the door when we get up, even in the winter, and they choose whether or not they leave. I know that when we get snow only the rooster will leave so we put food and water in the coop and let them do what they want. My advice is to leave the small hen door up when its daylight out and close it when it gets dark. I know that only a few breeds of hens continue to lay in the winter so if you don't get many eggs don't worry. Their instincts and durance to cold will tell if they want to stay in bed or not. Just make sure to break the ice on the water, if it gets that cold over there and that they have food. I'm sorry I don't have any advice about your hens laying on the roost, none of our hens have ever done that before. I hope this helps some. Although I have to say the light is a really good idea. I never thought of that.

Sounds like your plant is making a nice recovery after that severe cold snap you had experienced. I keep my 'Cezanne' container grown and it's a real bloom machine right into late fall and it doesn't stop even when placed in the coldroom for winter! Terry

Lovely, colourfull blooms. Saw them in England, but don't seem to be popular in Canada.

Thanks Tricia and Inga.. I am missing OZ so much I want to come home.
I am finding it hard to adapt to the small roads, and many crowds of people.
Also having problems with food and especially the water..
No I don't think we will be going to Devon we are in the rented cottage in Skelsmergh at present.
It has the most delightful small cottage garden but so pretty I will try and put some pics on tonight..
