So beautiful, my father in law was a market gardener in Dawlish, Devon for many years. The owner of the gardens made a lot of money by growing and selling anemones to Covent Garden. Will you be about to go there Misty? How are you enjoying UK so far.

Lovely little flowers Misty,
I didn't plant any Anemones but only a week after I planted
lots of bulbs I notice they are starting to appear.I don't know if that is good or bad as they havn't had time to develop roots that I believe are necessary to produce good flowers. Have a great time-you should have nice weather this time of year

Sounds like your plant is making a nice recovery after that severe cold snap you had experienced. I keep my 'Cezanne' container grown and it's a real bloom machine right into late fall and it doesn't stop even when placed in the coldroom for winter! Terry

I just hang my hoses in the garage and purchase a foam rubber cover for my spigots. My parents do nothing and that works fine too for them. I don't know what an older home needs - mine was built in 1964. In January or February, we sometimes get a warm spell here. That's when I cut down the grasses and some perennials. I'm in the process of yanking annuals and running them under a mulching blade or throwing them in the compost pile. Last year I staked my new raspberry canes in the fall and I lost a few. I'm going to wait until spring. Your perennials should be fine. I leave some leaves and stuff in there for insulation - it's not this sterile clean bed my neighbors favor. On to milk jugs and winter sowing. See you guys over there! We're already having fun and the solstice is just a month or so away!!!!!

Thank you folks for such beautiful comments. If it were not for you all I don't think I could of done it. Some of you here have no idea how much your kindness to take the time to help me and the articles I have read here have given me much encouragement to give it a try. So far so good. I was always scared to give them a try. Thanks again and lets hope all our roses have a wonderful summer! Marmorean, I am not sure of the name. I can try and find out. It has mostly white flowers that turn to a deep yellow over time. The most fragrant I ever had. I wish there was a way to get you a few cuttings. So easy to root! Moses, go for it buddy! I say give its a shot! Mines is in a very hot area with no more than 8 hours of sunlight.,It get very early morning sun from about 630 am until about 9 then again at 1200 until about 6..The real test will be how it makes it through this coming winter in that spot. Thanks for the fertilizing tip too. Mike

Looks pretty healthy for a plant described as having no roots initially (a decent division should have some roots). It might or might not have recovered sufficiently to flower after a dormant period. You might try letting it go without water for a month or so, then keep watering infrequent until February or so when days are lengthening. A cool rest is important for most hybrids (I let mine stay outdoors until temps were down in the 30s, even to 32F for a few, and some will get a supplemental cool but frost-free dark period in the garage for a couple of weeks).

Lovely, colourfull blooms. Saw them in England, but don't seem to be popular in Canada.
Thanks for posting.
Hope your having a grand time.

Thanks Tricia and Inga.. I am missing OZ so much I want to come home.
I am finding it hard to adapt to the small roads, and many crowds of people.
Also having problems with food and especially the water..
No I don't think we will be going to Devon we are in the rented cottage in Skelsmergh at present.
It has the most delightful small cottage garden but so pretty I will try and put some pics on tonight..
