I'm not sure what you got caught up in and don't really care, however this definitely needs to be addressed. There is a very specific Tulip that is called the Blue Tulip and it has been in cultivation in Asia for centuries. The colors of the Blue Tulip are various shades of purple and lilac. So trying to get a refund may make you feel better, but I hardly think your lack of knowledge is a basis for a refund. But for others that come here trying to find out about the Blue Tulip, lets avoid any further misunderstandings. 1st if you see a true blue colored Tulip, know that it has been dyed this color. This is very common, especially in wedding settings. 2nd, I highly doubt that anyone is trying to be deceptive in the selling of Blue Tulip bulbs, if you buy a bulb sold as a Blue Tulip, expect it to be any color in the light purple family but definitely not blue! I have included a link from a very reputable Tulip seller that sells the Blue Tulip. Here is a link that might be useful: Blue Tulip Sale

I guess it's been a couple days with no other responses.... Has your tulip changed further? Shirley seems to start out light cream with a fine edge but then goes to all mauve splatter as the blooms age. Is this maybe what happened?

I do have a white garden a section of the whole garden, if you don't count the coral Lycoris radiata in August nor the pink Crinum that I cannot kill nor the Spring and Fall crocus. It is unlike Vita's in that hers included many grey leaved plants to extend the effect. My leaves are an emphatically green background for the flowers, Taxus media, Vinca minor (white flowered), Nandina (white berried), Daphne odora marginata, Skimmia japonica (white berried), and the various leaves of flowering plants, roses, ('Katharina Ziemet', 'Blanc Double de Coubert', 'Sombreuil', 'Ilse Krohn Superior', 'White Pet', 'Mlle de Sombreuil', and 'White Maman Cochet' - 'Bolero' died but will be replaced in multiples), Helleborus niger, H.xhybridus and bulbs, Tulipa 'Purissima', Narcissus 'Thalia' and Colchicum autumnalis alba. The Gardenias, Citrus trees and Tabernaemontana grandiflora (an unfussy gardenia relative) reside in this patio garden in the summer so I guess that's more white. Cath

I just think about it and think about it until it all comes together for me. I was thinking about daylily slope today as I was working out in the garden. Thinking about the bulbs. I decided that instead of planting the yellow flowered Jewel of Spring there on the slope I will get a mix of Impression tulips. Scheepers has the Impression tulip grand collection. Which simply means all the Impression colors. Of course Impressions are darwins. But they are supposed to be big showy tulips. And somewhat perennial. I think that would be best there and I am sure it would look fabulous. Will just plant those Jewel of the Spring in the backyard in the garden overlooking the daylily plateau. I was planning on buying that Impression collection anyway and planting it there in the backyard. But I think it will have much more impact on the slope. So basicly I just switched planting places. I want that daylily slope to have a very striking impact.
