That would be my guess, as C. tommasinianus has just barely (mostly) finished flowering here. And they multiply better than vernus types.

Is this one of the Autumn crocus, they always seem to have a flower when they are being sold in the garden Centres.
I have just bought a saffron crocus, more for the novelty than collecting the saffron.

That looks to be a true crocus, but not saffron crocus, one of the others. I have saffron crocus too, but I haven't had a flower yet. I'm starting to think it doesn't get cold enough in our winters here for it to flower.
