Danger, never ever ride or allow anyone to ride on the auger this is a very very dangerous. The auger is spinning the shaft is spinning. You or someone could be hurt perhaps fatally. We have a tractor and an auger we use it to dig the holes to plant our roses. If the ground is hard we run a hose into the hole and let it soak in for a day. The hole is easy to drill and there is no danger to anyone. Fact is the operator of the tractor could not stop the machine quick enough if someone was to get caught in the mechanism. Bottom line be safe rather than sorry. That said the auger is one of the best investment we have made. We use our machine to dig holes for all of our planting on our 20 acres. We never saw a rose we did not like. We are looking forward to seeing your garden in full bloom. Be safe. gvbill

Gardening is my only hobby and I'm super fortunate that my husband works all day 5 days a week and my daughter naps 3 hours a day so I have extra time ! I'm trying to get it all into maintenance mode so her and I can do some fun things more often. Do you believe it's almost time for early preschool ? So I need to spend more quality time with her and less "games " out of digging holes ! Lol also even though I'm in my early thirties I have been gardening since I was 19 in my tiny house shared with my now husband. Boy the mistakes I made! Gorgeous garden, Hoang although I can see why you might be disappointed for maybe a bit less bloom compared to what you had last year, which was mind-blowing. I think everyone around here will have issues this year due to the late frost. I am not sure what happens if the plants loses small buds to frost early on. I guess the plant tries again but it doesn't seem to have as much breath/energy the second time so even if the bush grows back back nice and strong, that first flush is not what it could have been without the early frost. Right now my bushes look like huge healthy salad (I fertilized and sprayed) and not that many buds. I anticipate significantly less bloom than last year. Not sure if this is due to the early frost or because the fertilizer caused the bush to grow more leaves and less buds. Hard to nail it just right.
