Too wet most likely or too dim lighting.Or worst of all,both. For an Agave they are not very light needy. I can grow them in light shade outdoors here if need be. But indoors, might be asking too much! Your very newest leaf looks very pale.

Apparently my landlord told them to “cut them back” without my permission- I was DEVASTATED when I saw- it looks awful! I don’t know why anyone would do this! They were so lush and gorgeous cascading over my deck before - I wish I had a before picture- but here is a picture of what it looks like now- you can see the hacked off stems all around (they took quite a lot of beautifully flowering jade off as well) — the heads of the foxtail agave were all at least 2ft in diameter and draped beautifully over the cracked wall which is now fully on hideous display. And below that picture you can see the discarded heads... I’m hoping maybe I can replant them somewhere else in the yard.

I have transplanted in the high hundreds of agave attenunata in Southern California in the way I described at pretty much every time of year over the course of a couple decades. I don't know why GeeS thinks it would kill the plant. Must not be from around here. Another Landscape Architect friend of mine has about 2000 sqft of the stuff and whenever they get too long for the look he is going for we just go at them with a pruning saw and replant everything. I have even filled up a pickup truck with the stuff after demoing a landscape, let it sit in another friends backyard for a few months, then stuck them in full sun without roots in the heat of August and they didn't die. They might turn a little yellow and the bottom leaves might shrivel up but those guys are pretty tough.

I love these Agaves they're so pretty. So let me see here they're all in bags? In your climate these should grow easy. I would cut the big one first leaving about 5-6 inches of stem. Then just start separating the whole bunch little by little. These are pretty resilient. So if you break some leaves and roots no problem. They will be just fine:). I think 3 feet is a good amount of space between them. They will fill the space out. If you do end up cutting roots off or anything along those lines. You probably will only have to callus over the big cuttings. Just to be safe. Let these plants callus over for at least a week. The bigger stems if cut could take a little longer to scab over. This is important because you don't want to get fungus. Just keep in a well lit very dry spot. You could sprinkle some cinnamon on some of the big cuts. Cinnamon acts as a natural fungicide. I never have to use this, but it's dry where I live.Your rootless cutting may look sad, but this is only temporary as soon as they grow roots they will perk right up:). I'm curious what's your soil like where you live? I stick my Agave Attenuata in no ammended soil. They're fine:). You gotta remember they're growing in bags now;).
