Mistral is a beautiful Herreshoff schooner built in 1938. Her LOA is 82 ft. She has been rebuilt twice at great expense and treated us well...well except for the time the Capt surfaced from the bilge to inform us that we were on a sinking boat but J's good common sense soon had a jury-rigged bilge pump set up so sink we did not. Annette I may never catch up with my weeds, too many clients have to come first. Looking forward to your poppies blooming this year. Is h. 'Zitronenfalter' available at retail, do you know? I like the shape, the leaf shape, and the unusual color and I had never heard of it before. My collector-neighbor has a lot of hostas from the 1970s and 1980s that aren't so popular any more. He is retiring in January, so next summer we are going to make a photo archive and map his hostas. I'll have to put that name on my 'shopping' list! That tall unnamed seedling looks an awful lot like the weed plantain that's always trying to creep in from a messy yard next door, gone giant (shudder at the thought).

You just cannot do the comparison because we do NOT have those kind of Sans over here. What you can find are the basic sans trifasciata. Even in independent nurseries. They have the same kind of sans that big box stores carry but with a higher price.:( and when you see and buy all the 'silver blue'. Remember, one need to be send cross the country to here:)

Mantis: I told you I'd keep coming back. My interest too was peaked by the tall yellow flower and I figured it was a Lupine. I love Lupines but can't grow them here (although I have one in a pot now because I can't give up trying). I've never seen this bubbly yellow type though. Really unique.......I did look up the Angel Wings Senecio. It would do better in a pot in your area then in mine. It's from the Patagonia region of Chili, refined and trialed by a Japanese firm in the more northern mountains of Japan. A climate more similar to yours then my hot humid tropical nightmare (for it at least). It would be an annual for both of us with a zone 8 hardiness designation. But paired with red flowers in containers it was dazzling. I'm glad you showed all of this. Love to see new plants............Maryl
