I have never heard of a common name for Colquhounia. I suppose "Himalayan Mint Shrub" is as good as any, though really it tells you nothing more than it's a shrub, it's in the mint family, and it comes from the Himalayas. Boring! If Dee or plantsplus don't manage to post a mystery flower in the next few days, I suggest someone else should have a go. It's an activity that seems to revive interest in this forum. I remember 2-3 years ago we had the same sort of thing quite regularly.

We are really enjoying the seedlings. There seems to be something new to see every day. Abilene Lillian X Empire of Dawn and Dusk Saber Tooth Tiger tends to give seedlings that look a lot like it. This is one of the more distinctive ones. This Ashwood Summer Sunshine X Saber Tooth Tiger. I'm sort of surprised by the color of Bass Gibson X God Save the Queen. Some of the siblings have an eye. Here's one that is showing some pattern. It is Circuit Breaker X Pebble in a Pond. It's a big flower like the pod parent. We are surprised by the loose form of Dr Jules Michael Vinkman X Empire of Dawn and Dusk. Heidi Hugs X Tom Adams is a deeper color in person. Both of these are Interview with a Vampire X Sonoran Desert Rose. The second is my favorite of the two. I put the first one so you can see the variation you might get in seedlings. This is Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding X a seedling that is labeled Bass Gibson X Forestlake Laura Lee Harding. Bob and I doubt that parentage because the seedling's color is maroon. This one appears to be late blooming. We were surprised by the looks of this one. Both parents have an eye. It is Sonoran Desert Rose X Norris Seedling T-11-23. Debra, when we move the seedlings to the observation bed, we space them about 18 inches apart in rows 2 1/2 feet apart. In the seedling bed, they are spaced 5 to 6 inches apart with two rows a foot apart and an aisle of 2 feet on either side of the double row. They really become crowded by the third year. Mantis, the Pumpkin Prince seedling is not an early morning opener, but we have observed no problems with opening.
