triple b - I have several Austins in pots, longest of them being Christopher Marlow, Alnwick Castle & Wildeve. I also have Bibi Maizoon, Pretty Jessica & Queen Nefertiti in pots, all seem happy. Jubilee Celebration would be a great Austin to grow in a pot as would Sharifa Asma, Lilian Austin & Winchester Cathedral as they stay pretty short. My new Austins in pots this year are Janet, Lady Emma Hamilton, Sister Elizabeth, The Shepherdess, Heather Austin, Leander & Evelyn - these might need to be moved into the ground, they are in their first year so I'm not sure how big they will get - they tend to get bigger than suggested out here anyway ... but so far they seem happy in their pots. Here's a picture of Janet - not sure if you were asking for whole bush shots with them in pots, can do that if you would like - I just need to take new pictures ... Lilian Austin - I've got her in the ground, but she stays pretty short so would do great in a pot I think Jubilee Celebration - I'm seriously considering moving this rose into a pot because she's got weak necks - an urn shaped pot in deep moss green ... Lady Emma Hamilton - she's supposed to be darker than this, these were her first blooms and actually the current blooms I've got are a darker orange Winchester Cathedral - another Austin that stays pretty short in my garden Wildeve Sister Elizabeth Sharifa Asma - she benefits some some afternoon shade to keep her nice pink colour, mine does not get that shade, but seems happy in her spot in the ground Queen Nefertiti Pretty Jessica - the pot in the back ground is Queen Nefertiti's current home Leander Heather Austin Evelyn Christopher Marlow - depending on the weather he's orange, deep reddish orange or pink ... love all his colours Bibi Maizoon - not a very healthy plant, he's in a pot and I keep him around for the fragrance on the few blooms I do get - heavenly! lastly - Alnwick Castle enough enabling? of course my zone is quite different to yours so results might not be the same. Its going to be very warm here tommorrow, 87F!! Looks like we will have 4 days in the 80s in a row (monday-thursday). So far the lowest temp of the month is 44F and the lowest in the forecast is 44F. The lows for tonight and tommorrow night wont even get out of the 60s! Greg... Glad you like my camellia and the new spots for my staghorn ferns. The butia is growing slow, but it is really healthy. Laura... Cant wait to see some pics of those plumeria blooms. My divine has an inflo comming up and its really liking the sun too (but is burned a little from the heat). I thought that my area would be cooled down really significantly, but I guess not because we are in the 80s. I saw 3 bees and many other wasps out today as well as a moth, a butterfly, and I noticed my variegated vincas are blooming now. All the street trees (bradford pears) are blooming now and the forests are getting green. Spring is here for sure, but I think this weather is more summer-like. 87F is about average for july in my area. I cant believe you got to 90F already. Sounds like beach weather to me! And you can tell the birds are making there nests now since half my spanish moss is gone. So I had to take the rest off the tree for now and I will put it back on when there nesting season is over. I really hope there arent any frosts, its still kind of early to have all these plants out, but its just so warm! The AC is now on! Good luck and enjoy the heat!

Thanks Keith! I'm glad my camellias encouraged you to get some of your own! I would plant it in the ground now only because Camellias can be finicky in pots because they can't dry out too much and they arent really crazy about being indoors. But if you give it really good soil and make sure to water it well then potting it up might be better. If you have an unheated garage that doesnt really get below freezing too much during the winter than you can put it in there. What kind of camellia is it? Once yours gets to be close to the height of the one in my pic (probably by next spring) you can plant it in the groun). Remember they really dont like sun! Thanks Mastiffhoo! The yard is already looking a lot fuller and its only been about 2 weeks since I took these pics so I cant wait to see what another 2 weeks will do! -Alex
