Come for a walk around my Garden on a Foggy Morning

Yes it was a strange morning though I find foggy mornings a bit eerie and after that wonderful 31.5 mm of rain yesterday today has turned out to be a much warmer day with beautiful blue skies and just a slight breeze.....What more could one want I would not mind a notebook though so I could sit outside and enjoy it all while typing.

That would be nice......So come for a walk with me around our Garden and enjoy.... Cheers...MM.

First View of the morning outside the back door......... The Sun trying its best to rise in the East:

And as I walked around the garden it started to get lighter:

The Plumbago on the left is a mass of flowers and a Lilac bougainvillea behind it is starting to bloom:

And as I go around to the front all the garden is lovely and wet and dont the plants love that:

So many Gerbera's flowering at present, my first one the huge double so much bigger than the singles.

MM, your garden is looking wonderful, it is a real credit to you and your husband. It is looking so established now. What a lovely idea to take photos in the fog like that. They're lovely.

bebemarie, well I finally had some time to actually go and look at your album and think your flowers and photos are stunning! The Apolline is just lovely and the Narrow Waters has an etheral look about it. The Buff Beauty is also lovely and I can't wait for mine to gain some age and wisdom! I mentioned that I am pilloring it and have a few canes wrapped around the pole so far. They are a little stiff but if I don't wait too long (like I did for the first one which, to my horror, broke as I bent it - yikes!) they wrap just fine. I also have a potted Lady Hillingdon which I hope to put in the ground soon - when I get around to making a spot for her (and all the other roses in my pot ghetto that don't have homes yet!) Lynn

My Saturday morning stroll was wonderful - I enjoy the flowers around my deck and parking area everyday but don't walk down to what I call "the bottom garden" everyday so Sat. was special - a beautiful day to be in God's world - thyme was covered with blooms, running rose getting ready to bloom, a great new variety of lavender blooming its heart out, feverfew sporting a few blooms, yarrow etc. - birds singing- I sat in the swing with a cup of coffee and just enjoyed!!

Hi Martina, it was very kind of you to answer my message considering the date of the original post. I checked out your photos on Instagram and, O, my God, you have such a beautiful collection of tropical plants. You Anthuriums are mind-blowing! I collect Calatheas myself but it's a bit challenging considering I live in Colorado which is not really a Calathea-friendly state. I have to work extra hard to provide enough humidity and other care to make sure they are happy. I was trying to find Calathea Princeps that you had in your old garden for quite a while now but to no avail. Is it possible to find Calathea Princeps and other exotic Calatheas in Florida garden centers or nurseries? I also saw another Calathea on one of your photos. I think it's either Villosa or Pavonii. What a beauty! Would you be kind enough to consider maybe trading or selling me a rhizome? Now I'm one of your followers on Instagram. Thank you very much. (I attached your photo of Calathea I was talking about. I hope your don't mind it )

Dear MaryAnne, it just looks beautiful... does this mean that you are mastering the art of that recalcitrant camera...? I just love the damp foggy mornings and the cool weather too... is your Plumbago the Royal Cape blue one...? Rosalie

Thanks everyone and what a warm day it turned out yesterday after all that fog it got to 31degs. I love the damp foggy mornings also not that we get many here.

Dee the garden is just about finished now though I did make a new bed for my Gerbera a few weeks back and I am thinking of another Rose bed but no more roses just giving them more space. We got 1200 used pavers given to us on Tuesday ( exchanged for hard yakka ) so I can see a few new raised beds getting made for extra vegies..

Hi Macbirch...I have a lot of Gerbera's now and those doubles are so beautiful and last a long time in the vase.

Marion do you get Misty morning's like this..How is that packing going...

Dear Rosalie::: No I have not mastered it yet..though I am trying hard between library books and video's and all those camera forums on the Internet...Today being a special day for me we are going into the big smoke to my favourite toy shop and Tony is going to buy me either another memory card two big ones are not enough for me or maybe a filter ??? Then there is that book shop, O decisions decisions but I will come back with something. Sorry I dont know the name of the Plumbago as I found it in a pile of rubbish when we bought this block it is not a really bright blue......Cheers...MM.

I thought I had posted something here earlier but must have missed it.

The garden is looking good, seems to be loving the rain you have had. Fogs like that are a sure sign of autumn with cool nights and warm days. We are starting to get a few too lately.

I remember when I used work near Inverell in NSW. The house we stayed in was on a hill and out of the fog but it felt like we were the only people alive when we looked out and could see nothing but fog below us. Very spooky.
