It will open when it's ripe . That won't take until next spring - they'd not be viable if it did. Being outdoors in sun (I presume) would be better to finish off the job than indoors, unless your winter position has plenty of light anyway.
I would be inclined to leave it outdoors during the day and move it in at night only, if you can, for a few weeks longer. If that's too much/difficult then just give it the best possible light position you can inside & fingers crossed.
It helps sometimes if you put a small rubber band or a bit of string (not tight) round the pod, that will stop you losing seed if it suddenly splits open and you haven't checked it for a couple of days.
Seed is only shortly viable so the sooner sown, the better the germination rates.
