G'morning Isimms - I second your suggestion I have 3 colors (White, Shell Pink & Yellow- called Arch Angel)! Great also under and around Hostas where I have mine ... after 6 years have carpeted a 30ft x 5ft area. My ? ... both White & Shell Pink flower through the season but the Arch Angel once done in the Spring, does not rebloom. I planted the yellow to brighten the semi-shady NE end of the strip & encourage the Yellow Finches (They come for the Cone Flowers I have near by). This is a ? for Cottage gardening thread , but since you suggested so wisely ... TIA Ditas

OK, here is my list of what I am definitely bringing to the swap tomorrow. I did all this digging today, someone remind me next year that I really should dig over the course of a month and pot stuff up, trying to dig everything in one day was probably not the right way to go about this. I dug until my energy and my back gave out! Belinda's Dream rose (for Greening) This I did pot up Ferns (for Adam) Baby Heucheras (for Adam) Pink coreopsis 'American Dream' (one bunch for Greening, and four more up for grabs) Two mature coneflowers (for AlicePalace) A bunch of yellow threadleaf coreopsis (up for grabs) Fairy rose (up for grabs) I didn't get around to digging up my daff and crocus bulbs, but I AM going to dig them this fall, so if you are interested in getting some, please let me know at the swap. (I have already promised some to FGirl -- waving hi to FGirl, who is watching from the wings). I didn't find my allium bulbs either, but I have seed from it. I also didn't dig up my coreopsis grandiflora, but I have seeds from that too. I'm bringing my seedbox. I hope I'm not letting anyone down by not bringing everything I said I would. Anyway, I am going to go take a nice big dose of ibuprofen, and then maybe go eat an ice cream sundae for supper. Oh, I still have to cook a blackberry cobbler tonight. No worries, that I can do. I just received the most WONDERFUL box from Miss Sue! It was so big, it took 2 kids to carry it. :) And MERCY, I just about fell out of my chair when I saw how much it cost to mail! Prices are getting ridiculous!! I tried to keep track of everything as I unwrapped them, but I had 4 little helpers (the girls helped me...the boys couldn't have cared less- they know they're going to be recruited to help plant later on! LoL!) so I didn't get everything written down. But everything looks great, nothing is wilted! Which was SO surprising, considering the heat! I know there were 2 mini roses, red & blue salvia, many daylilies, 6 succulents, dianthus, lantana, rosemary & lavender. The rosemary & lavender made the box smell SOOOO good! If I've forgotten to mention anything, please forgive me! Thank you SO MUCH, Miss Sue! You outdid yourself with a WONDERFUL box, and I absolutely LOVE everything!

More great ideas and lovely flowers! Thank you all! I found the bulbs on sale at Lowe's too. Got 50 crocus and 30 daffodils. I'm waiting to see how many actually come up in the spring before I buy more. I have lots of squirrels and disturbed ground is an open invitation to see what is on the buffet. I have three astilbe but I may have to move them next year. The back gets more sun than I originally thought and they got crispy quick even with watering. Are the Rodgersia as water loving as astilbe? Bernd - I have been looking for the "brunette" for awhile but haven't seen any around here. I may have to break down and order online if I do decide to go with it. I've also thought about Goats beard, Aralia Sun King and maybe an obelisk with clematis. So many plants, so little room ;)
