Light is a limiting factor and is such that they will double in size once they are outside. But I am glad that we can keep them in tip top shape all winter, while we wait for robust growth come soon! hi, Llanwenyls, I almost didn't read your posting as there was only a zone 8 designation, which I usually think as being somewhere in the southern U.S. And I can't help too much, anyway, except to say that as a general rule, I think that the hybrid musks do pretty well up here and you shouldn't have problems with Albertine. My Buff Beauty hasn't bloomed yet, as it was planted last spring sometime, but I should know more next year as to how it does. Felicia does well, Cornelia less so. I am less sure about bourbons, as I think they need more heat to thrive well, but I don't know this from experience, just what I've read. My only one is Mme. Cornelissen. She died back to the roots last year but came back fine. My garden is young, so I am not much help at all! I am glad you posted as there aren't that many of us from the PNW that post - could you change your zone designation to include PNW ? Maybe that will bring more PNW'ers that are here out of their quiet reading to help you.

Oh please do post PJ. Be bold with color! It's fun, and I've been hoping my adventures into color in the garden with paint would inspire others. And remember about all the 'stuff' I have -- I've been collecting bird cages for over 30 years. The one with the turquoise roof is one of my first. I bought it for the fantail pigeons, but they multiplied so fast we had to buy more cages. I had the idea that I would keep a few birds in each big cage, but when we let them fly loose every day -- birds of a feather that they are -- they wanted to roost together so we ended up building what is now the 'art museum'. Also we used to drive to Nuevo Laredo, which is across the border from Laredo, and buy lots of wrought iron stuff, including bird cages, tables, and plant stands, etc. very inexpensively. Incidentally, I had two of the bird cages you see at the end of the trail between bougies and used them as decor at my daughter's wedding -- complete with white doves, which I used to have as well as the pigeons. One pair cooed all though the ceremony and the other pair fought; just like married life ... LOL. Anyway, now they advise people not to go over the border. But sometimes you can find bird cages at yard sales and flea markets. Looking forward to your pictures, and anyone and everyone elses too!
