Cream and Apricot flowers

Can anyone help me please with some suggestions of plants with cream or apricot flowers (apart from roses), which will grow in a Melbourne garden which has both sun and shaded areas. Many thanks....Jen

Hi Jen, Hope this list is of help;
Cream;
Digitalis - Foxgloves (perenial), Convallaria majalis - Lily of the Valley (bulbs), Datura suaveolens - Angel's Trumpets (shrub), Freesia (bulbs), Magnolia denudata - yulan tree (25ft tree).
Apricot;
Hibiscus (shrub), Clivia (perenial bulb), Daffodils (I have one that is cream and apricot together).
That's all I can think of at present. I have to stop to cook dinner. I'll post again if I think of any more.

Mimulus, salvia - some of the newer introduced varieties, Bearded irises, Knifophia (pokers), Cannas, Tritonia, .....

That was last year. when I picked flowers- it was first year the apricot was flowering... I never did it for my peach tree and it is doing fine... Though looks like this year no flowers on it as well(... First year out of 7 I have it it doesn't flower...

Thanks Moses. I actually already have both of those roses. GOLDEN UNICORN is a nice rose, but doesn't repeat all that great for me. I got HONEYSWEET over 10yrs ago, and it was a small plant that I shouldn't have put directly in the ground. It faltered for a few yrs and then almost died. I had to dig it out of one of the beds that had to be removed when we did our septic system re-do almost two yrs ago. It's finally recovering in a one gal pot. I expect to see some blooms again hopefully next yr. I also had to dig up FRONTIER TWIRL but, unfortunately it didn't survive the transplanting. I'm finding it hard to replace that one. Anyway, as for APRICOTS 'N CREAM. I just want to see other photos that hopefully show it looking more like the ones on HMF. I love the way they look, as compared to the paler version that Star Roses shows.

Sam if it's not your pic, do you know for sure it was taken last weekend? Anyhow, I'm glad they are blooming down there. Changing the topic newbie, but do you have any Mahonia X medias? They also provide color at this time of year. I'm planning on introducing one via Camellia Forest but it won't be ready for a few years. (Oh lord. Mahonia x media is now Berberis × hortensis )

I grow both Apricots and Cream and Apricot Candy....I don't think they're related. Apricots and Cream is in its second season in my garden, so still relatively new (purchased as a bareroot last spring). So far, it has bloomed in flushes all season long. It has absolutely gorgeous foliage, which is plentiful and always immaculately healthy. The plant is very upright and has a wonderful shape. So far it is about four feet tall and two feet wide (in its second year). The flowers are huge and very beautiful. I cannot remember the scent at the moment...it has bud right now but no open blooms. The reviews are correct about the thorns, they are very long, although not particularly thick or hooked. The thorns seem in keeping with the overall size of the plant. Thorn size on roses never bothers me though. Apricot Candy is much shorter and floppier, with huge blooms that open up very quickly and with less petals than Apricots and Cream. Apricots and Cream is more like a traditional hybrid tea in all ways.

Hi Jen, I'm back again. I thought of a few more.
Cream:
Brachysema sericea (ground cover), Elaecarpus eumundi (tree to 10m h. x 6m. wide), Calendula officianalis.
Apricot:
Tulips (bulbs), Abutilon hybrids (large shrub)

Cream California poppies ("Milkmaid" variety, I think they're called. And I've just bought a fabulous apricot verbena.

What's going on? The Computer Nazi wouldn't let me add another posting to the Cream and Apricot Flowers question ... I had to change the subject!! This doesn't augur well for the new site owner. What I wanted to add was, the verbena is called Lanai Peach and is by Natural Selections.

If you want to add a second posting, you can simply change the subject line. Even a simple change like adding a space will do, and often won't even show.

Diascia (Bride's Saddle) come in a range of salmon/aprioct colours and they flower for yonks! Mine lasted from Spring, all through summer and into Autumn.
