Thank you for the reply. I did delete everything, 2 items, in my outbox and it's working okay today. I did the same thing,deleting, a couple days ago and it didn't work, so who knows, maybe it just needed some rest time:) Thank you again, this forum is one of the best on GW,certainly one of the most helpful.

Frankly, if you're going to use canned frosting, and don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, but I'd suggest not frosting them at all. Tell them what kind to get and they can frost them and you can save the postage on mailing a can of frosting. Otherwise, leave it in the can & send it or put it into a ziplock freezer bag with instructions to just clip a corner of the bag and squeeze it out. Another option is making a thick frosting. A fudge essentially. I use a recipe Nathalie Dupree had on her show for Mississippi Mud Bars and it's real easy. I made a mistake, misread the recipe and used a bag instead of a box of powdered sugar. It was thick and like an old fashioned fudge and I really liked it so I've done it that way since. Here's the recipe: Icing: ⢠1 pound Powdered sugar (Note, I used more as said, but you could use less butter or maybe just less or eliminate the milk might be better to make it thicker too) ⢠1/3 cup Cocoa ⢠1 cup Butter, melted ⢠1 teaspoon Vanilla ⢠1 cup Pecans, chopped (I don't use nuts) ⢠2 tablespoons Milk Now if you like nuts, you could put the nuts on top of the icing which would keep it from sticking too, or use candy corn for the holiday/Halloween look, or candy sprinkles, chocolate chips or nothing. I don't put nuts in my brownies FWIW. You might even try adding some extra powdered sugar to the canned frosting (test a small bit first) and see if that would thicken it and make it more firm/less sticky. The problem you face with any sort of a spacer is with this going through (I'm assuming) the post office, it's going to be bounced around, and turned on every side in transit so if it's not solid, it'll be an issue. Frosting in the middle is a great idea but I wouldn't put two together and expect them to pull them apart - they wouldn't come apart evenly. And y'know what? T'were I you, I wouldn't fret over it too much. If'n I got a box of homemade brownies with the extra helping of love, it wouldn't bother me if I had to take a spoon and scrape it from the wrapping and eat it that way! It'll still taste great and be much appreciated. Let us know what you decide to do.

I send cuttings often. Not citrus in particular but I do anything that could wilt the same way. Wrap the cut end in a damp-not-drippy paper towel, put a sandwich bag over that & gently twist it closed enough around the stem just enough so the towel doesn't dry leaving a minor gap for some fresh air, a little piece of tape on the plastic, not the plant, so it doesn't unroll. Then you can slip the whole thing into a TP or paper towel roll to keep it straight if it's small enough, or loosely rolled in newspaper if bigger. Then put in the smallest possible box with crumpled paper (or pack more cuttings) to fill the empty space. USPS has flat-rate boxes in several sizes, especially handy if one needs to know the cost up front, and tube-shaped boxes that can be handy for cuttings. It's a pretty hot time of year, waiting until it's a little cooler might be prudent.

i presume the point is that its a gift .. wish i knew how big yours are ... i would put a few in a snack baggie .. wrapped loosely in paper towel .. and take them to the post office ... and ask them to sell you a small box ... have them help you stick it in.. put postage on it.. and mail it ... its not really all that complicated ... my daughter and i just did that with xmas cookies and they were really busy at the time ... z5 is about half the us and very divergent ... but generally i might wait until late march or april .. maybe carry the roll of paper towel with you.. in case you need some packing space filled in the box ... ken
