Great "save", Kirk. Olivia's tea sets get to stay and be enjoyed by the whole family. They look WONDERFUL. Especially the first set, Ladybugs...so perfect for the garden. Hi, Sorry for the delay in posting. I've had so much going on over the weekend, plus we lost our internet. We had a mini explosion outside, a powerline blew. The man from the electric company said a squirrel ate the line? I blame the ice/snow storm! We had the heaviest snow of the season! Anyways, I better make this short- I have to make lunches for the kids yet. Laura sent a wonderful box- nothing was broken, everything was packed very well! A cute handpainted pot (with google type glued eyes) and big painted lips, it contained a hindu rope hoya! Plus a very pretty clear vase with handpained flowers (I'm already using it to root some wandering jew starts) Vanilla/reed oil diffuser (smells so good) Journal (to make all my trade notes in- needed a new one so bad) baggy of seeds (have to go through them) mini hummer feeder/shepards hook to hang it on (hummers thank you Laura, LOL) Herbal soap (that smells soooo good) Gardening gloves (always need these) Package of blueberry herbal tea (yum) Country garden mag (after the weekend I had, I'm relaxing and reading this tonight) Thank you so much Laura, for such a fantastic box! I loved everything you sent! I hope I didn't forget anything! Things have to slow down for me soon! This weekend we purchased new 6 panel white doors for EVERY door in the house, plus new closet doors to match! Hopefully my package arrived today! ;) Hugs, Deb

I have recently started making Scottish Shortbread Cookies and they are perfect with my prefered vanilla coffee. It just takes 2 cups flour, 3/4 cup of butter, and only 1/4 cup of sugar. Mix it up with your hands. Roll it up and Chill to firm up, slice and cook on ungreased 350' oven for 17 minutes or until they turn the """""slightest"""" color of brown on the edges. Length of baking time varies based on how thick you slice your cookies. When the cookies are done I will be right over to have tea with you!!!! : ) susie

So sorry this is such a late reply...I was laying low in bed most of the day, I pulled my back out gardening..I was trying to log on to this site with my laptop. For some reason, it just would not go thru...Soo, finally tonight, I went and used my desktop. Thank you for all the nice compliments on my 'Tea Parties'.. I had fun setting them up and glad you enjoyed them..Wish you were ALL here to really have some with me. kathleen, that chair in the BR was my Aunt's. It is quite old and does have a down seat - you are an 'Eagle Eye'. I also have another chair of hers - a Ladder Back Armchair..that I love. OA... I agree, that Blue Tea Set is large in size. Enjoyed your singing!! - You are quite good!! lol Susie... Those cookies sound sooo good.. Let's make a date and I'll put on another pot!! Also I agree with jaybird on the Pink/Red Castles. I've seen them running in different shades from light to dark too. I like the lighter ones. jaybird...I hope your feeling better. How nice of DH to take you for that ride. I had to laugh over you imagining CT after seeing some hills and smelling the air after the rain!! I'ts not easy being homesick. Betty...My first love has always been Blue & White...I know what you mean about 'Pink' growing on you ... me too! Punk... I think the most fun shopping I do, is at Estate & Tag Sales...not to mention the great bargains. Glad you enjoyed my tea parties. DD...I can understand you wanting to have a Dutch Girl because of your Dad.. I hope one comes your way one day. I love her..she's so different and I just love her vintage look too. Hi Michellle. Your roses look so beautiful as always.
Love your vases full of those pretty blooms.
I had to go and buy another bud rose as first thing of a morning now
I go and cut off all the new buds that are just opening only way I get to see them.
They are all here today and gone tomorrow except Seduction and a couple of others.
Bet yours last a lot longer than that...Great Pics.....Cheers..MM.

Ashke Yes it is Pierre de Ronsard which is going mad at present,shooting up really tall canes ready for attaching to trellis to cover a brick wall!!

Heather..dont worry :)) the cup and saucer are looked after very well!!

MM Good to hear from you ...I find the same as you.If you pick the buds just as they are opening you get the bloom opening over a few days,a week.If you wait until the bloom is fully open you only have it for a couple of days with a few exceptions. Abraham Darby Mary McKillop and Lovely Lady(one of yours I think) last forever up to weeks in the vase if you get them at the opening stage.

I have none of your roses growing and am just looking forward to the day when I can pick a bunch for inside the house like yours.
I have a wish list a page long, can't wait for the new roses to appear in the catalogues and shops.

Nothing can compare to a good cup of tea in fine china, how lucky you are.
