Roses, roses and more roses!!!

Hi everyone

I have to post these,I was so excited to see them doing well

These were for a very close friend of mine:

This is "Best Friend" the plant:

and here is a close up of the blooms-the perfume is a knockout:

and for a bit of colour,here is Paul Cezanne (again!!!I'm sorry...you must be sick of this rose by now! but I love it-it is prolific bloomer )

O Michelle Beautiful Roses once again, your bouquet for Kathy looks divine.
Very pretty is your Best Friend, same colour as Queen Elizabeth what do you think.
And I can understand you loving your Paul Cezanne It is a beautiful rose.....
Though they all are I know we have our favourites as some are very special.

Carol- The roses are Gingersnap (orange) and double Knockout. Lilies (true lillies grow from bulbs)bloom once a year and never repeat. The ones in the pictures above are all Asiatic Lilies. Those would be the ones that bloom the earliest. Then there are other types (oriental, trumpet, ect) that have later bloom times. By getting the different types of lilies one can get a very long bloom season on them but each indivual one blooms only once a year.

Thanks y'all! It's a great spring for lots and lots of buds. Vaporvac, I think it's possibly the lighting making it appear darker. I think it's probably the same shade as yours. Mine is very fragrant. I purchased them last year and they hardly bloomed all summer but this spring they've been nothing BUT blooms. I'm loving them! Carol, I love love Zaide. She's an amazing bloomer but I can't detect much fragrance. im all about blooms though and fragrance is an added bonus if they have it :)

The rosy morning was great! The judge, Rose Enders, was from the Grand Rapids area, and for this show, she focused on education. She shared her expertise patiently while she judged: what a quality display looks like, the importance of knowing what a certain variety's "best" effort would look like (she said that some varieties you have to grow to know), and how to diagnose certain types of insect damage (thrips, Japanese Beetles, leaf cutter bees...) and more. Her pace was just right -- there was plenty of time for questions, and she gave lots of examples. Time flew by -- how could it not with good company and lots of roses, roses, and more roses!

and I do think Best Friend is very like the colour of Q.Elizabeth.

Just lovely as always Michelle, I love that Paul Cezanne is it by any chance a Delbard rose?

Yes you are right!!
It is a Delbard rose and new for me this year. I bought it as a shrub,planted it and it has grown like mad. It is already taller than me (5'4) and it has prolific blooms.
Fantastic plant.Excellent disease resistance.
If you look at the Delbard catalogue you will find it in the Painters section.
I would recommend it if you like the colours.It has a long vase life as well as the blooms lasting up to 10 days on the plant.
