Actually it looks like Privet, which I think is NOT a native but certain species are declared weeds.
If I'm right then I would have to say that despite that, I have NEVER had a seedling come up in the yard in 20 years, and it has given much protection to ground and climbing plants, and birds, as well as shade in the hottest of summers.

It does look a bit like privet but I suspect I've got something very similar growing down the back, a native, but search as I have I seem to have misplaced the label and can't think of the name of it. I bought it after seeing a picture posted here by (I think) Mary-Ann some years ago. The flower
bud(s) opens to a small starry, yellow(ish) flower. I'll keep looking for the label, I know I've got it somewhere.

Hmmm, it does look like a privet now that I've looked it up. I had assumed it was planted by the Brisbane City Council. But perhaps not.

I think it is broad leaf privet which (I believe) was brought in as a street tree. It is a pest down the local golf course located in a valley because the seeds are spread by birds and it grows very rapidly given a bit of moisture.

I checked my tree/bush down the back and while the birds have again pinched my label, the leaves of my bush differ significantly from those in the pic. So, subject to the tree/bush bearing dark brown berries, I'll go arthurm that it's a broad-leaf privet.
