I think I would move it to another area, further from the house, where the only pruning needed would be the removal of dead branches, and keeping the bottom tidy. IMO, pruned CMs look AWFUL, and are an ongoing nightmare. There are any number of good CM cultivars that will stay to your size requirements, so get one of them, and plant it near the house instead of the 'Natchez'. However,I would think that it would be OK, if not ideal there if you don't want to move it. You might have to cut off any branches, or trunks, that end up too close to the house or to the roof, but it would give some shade there, and would be dramatic. If you don't HAVE another area, and don't want to let it grow in its present location, then see if someone will come and take it away, "free for the digging" or for a fee, since it was so recently planted and should be easy to dig out. I don't know that you would make your initial cost back, since it IS in the ground now, but ..... In any case, keep up the watering - whenever the root ball is dry down to the depth of about 2", or to the depth of your finger poked into the ground to the second knuckle, NOT by a set schedule. Water it really well when you water, so that the root ball is soaked. If you haven't mulched, do so, as widely as possible, no deeper than 4", and no mulch next to the trunk(s). The mulch can always be scraped back to dig it up and replant another one, if you decide to go that route.

I sort of disagree with everyone who's posted so far. (Respectfully) This has been addressed here recently, more than once if you do a search for 'home theatre system' and 'new car with house' Incentives can be great but they have to be properly implemented. I think using cars is a bad idea for most situations and a lot of this depends on the buyer. A TV could be a great incentive if a prospective buyer is having a hard time deciding between your property and another equal property. It won't make up for major shortcomings or problems the property has though. With most buyers, cash is severely depleted after they buy a house and going out of pocket for things they want or need is something they'd rather not do. In the past I suggested a nice new shiny riding lawn mower. The thing is TV's and lawn mowers are guy things. Not to sound like a cheauvenist, it's just that I'm a guy and don't know what would appeal to women. That would be a good question to ask the people on this forum. First time buyers aren't looking all that closely at stuff. They just don't know better. They would be most likely to bite at the offer. Some other suggestions might be for the buyer a choose of incentives. Other ideas might be a choice of nice garden sheds, childrens playsets, fencing, and maybe a vacation to somewhere. Nothing overly expensive. And instead also have to buyer close by a certain date to get the free gift. If you're in a subdivision or something like that where you're pretty much up against fairly identical homes all built at the same time and in the same condition, offering perks is something to consider. I honestly don't know how one would properly implement incentives into a brokered deal. This is more of a plan for FSBO's to take since you're the one doing the selling.

Thanks all! I'm also relieved to hear that I'm not weird for missing a large mirror. I DO have a TV armoire currently in my dining room full of board games and the printer; I should find a new place for that to avoid armoire overload as the rooms are open to each other. It's not one of those super frilly French types, but the mirrors do add to the bedroom feel. I'll have to move some stuff out of the way to get a photo. I did find an old dusty photo of the top of it that should give a good idea as to the style (and height relative to my 8 ft ceilings). The lower part is pretty predictable. :)

Ok I took rolling them thin a bit too literally according to my mom - wafer like. The last batch I rolled them a bit thicker. Both were good. Her oven seems to run hot so I baked them at 325F instead of 350F. I baked them for 6 minutes - turned the pan and baked for 2-3 more. She says she usually doubles or quadruples the ginger and also adds cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg as well. I used a tablespoon of ginger, a tsp of cinnamon and a quarter tsp of the other spices. Plus the zest of an orange. I baked up all the little scraps to snack on so the cookies wouldn’t disappear overnight before decorating . We all enjoyed them. I think they would be really good with ice cream.
