i dont like it much myself... but.. i do know several people like it.. and want to get it started... and its quit pretty if its by itself... but even at that.. anyone that knows how to just get it to stop growing somewhere would be awesome... only reason i listed it is because i know several people do want it, but yes... anyone that wants this... "caution" dont put it near any other plants... as it will choke them out..... oh and i think they are silver maple seedlings.. but i am not sure

You don't say which succulents you are talking about, and whether you are growing outdoors or indoors. Some succulents such as many Echeveria species actually color up better outdoors in winter, while many of the Aeoniums with colorful foliage lose their color in winter, and regain it in spring as the light intensity increases. Most likely your loss of color is from reduced duration of daylight, especially if they aren't being grown outdoors in full day sun. Other succulents such as Crassula erosula cultivars can be as colorful in winter as summer if they get full sun and are not overwatered. No simple "one solution fits all" for various succulents, it really depends on what you are growing and where/how... I will say that it is difficult to grow many succulents as indoor plants in winter and maintain vivid foliage color without supplemental artificial light.

Sedums are really tolerant, and hens and chicks/sempervivum can take some partial shade. You could even add a cactus too, like a hardy opuntia as well. The agave though, would need protection in the winter. True, some of them are very hardy, but I still have more success when I protect them in the winter. Good luck, Chris
