Marvelous Tricia, Well done with the Pumpkin, I know that feeling.
I used to grow that Clematis, Love the Glady, nice colour.
More beautiful roses you garden must look like Paradise.

You can hog as much as you like :-))
the snail creeper looks full of bloom, I have a seedling growing can't wait for some flowers.
The council planted glads on there traffic islands this year they are different.
Watch your pumpkin dosen't take over the roses.

nope; it's me, still here in Studio City! 83 degrees today, sunny and very dry. Everything is either in bloom, or about to be (except the magnolias, which bloomed weeks ago). Some of my winter annuals planted in the fall already need replacing, like the stock. Pansies still doing well, and I haven't decided what to do about the petunias from last year that are still going gangbusters. I potted up the strawberries, which already have fruit. I've got a huge repotting job ahead with my dwarf lemon and some roses that are waaaaaay past needing it. Life is good; my son is graduating high school (wasn't it yesterday that he was 3 years old and in preschool?) and taking off for Japan in June....for the second time. My baby is now 11 and so beautiful with her brilliant, titian colored hair and blue eyes! Everything is good. Got a wedding coming up for my middle stepDD in May. I'm doing the mother of the bride thing, since her mother is basically uninvolved. Glad to do it, of course. I've been her mom since she was 11. I'm playing guitar in a band and played in a couple of clubs. I'm making jewelry and selling it quite a bit. I'm trying hard to stop practicing law (without much success), and I'm getting back into painting. Right now, I'm doing plein air painting in the California style, but it's been so long, I'm soooooooo bad! I'm a work in progress, for sure! Debra

I think you've already answered your question :-( Our pets try so hard to please us, even when they are in the condition you describe. It is so easy to get swayed by the displays of affection and attention that even pets on death's door exhibit. You want to think that maybe everything's OK when subconsciously you know it probably is not. And sometimes it's very hard to actually the judge the quality of life they may have......afterall, they cannot communicate verbally how bad they may be feeling, what kind of pain they are in, or how confused or disturbed they might be. All we can go on is their actions and they do their best to put on a brave front for us. Deciding when is the toughest decision a pet owner has to make. Been there, done that too many times and it doesn't get any easier. It is always best to do it before the animal is really suffering. Take the weekend and spend some quality time with your kitty and lavish him with attention. Feed him his favorite treats and cuddle and love him. And know that you have been a great pet parent, otherwise he wouldn't have made it to this ripe old age, and that you gave him a great and long and loving life. And then do what you know you need to do. My thoughts are with you.

Hey Dena! I just popped over here to see wazzup and saw your post. Nice to meet you! Sounds like you are quite the creative one. I bet you are never afraid to try anything. Did the weddings stress you out, or are you one of people who THRIVE on it? I know you are so very proud of your kids. Thats quite an accomplishment. I reckon they had a good role model, eh?

Yah that's bad.. Cat38, the next time you take him to the doctor and the doctor states the situation. tell him that bm will not give meds and has not taken her son for a second opinion. There are smokers in the house. Dr. can call child services and have her investigated since she is a RN. Which is alarming to say the least that she would not acknowledge the signs and symptoms. To top it off, you can't brain wash a doctor when he's run routine tests...lol..an rn should know this. My husband agrees, you call Child services immediately and get all the health records, letter for the doctor. And do not send the child back to a smoking environment. Also get the nurses association involved to investigate mother dear. Yes, it will get very ugly. But he'res the alternative. You do nothing. And God forbid your Ss passes in his sleep if its as dangerous as you describe. My husband said this to me ' he'll pass away in his sleep eh'...that is veyr dangerous. Is his breathing worse after he comes to your home from mom's??? does it get better when he stays longer at your place? I wish you all the best, I know your in a tough position, but your SS is sick and he needs help. I just cannot understand why a mother would allow her child to be on so much medication. If the third antibiotic didn't work on my child i'ld go to the emergency. This did happen to my son by the way. He had an eye infection, then an ear infection, then it came back...and then by the 4th week his eye was infected again. I took him to emergency and they said it was a flesh eating bacteria and he also had Septisemia. Straight IV antibiotics. It cost me 400 /day for the treatments for 10 days....thank God i had visa to place the costs and then my insurance gave me back the money and i repaid visa. It was scary.

Beautiful flowers especially the glady, clematis and snail flower.

The pumpkin vine looks healthy but be careful - homegrown vegies can be addictive :)

Go for it Tricia with that sort of hogging who could mind, just lovely pics. I love the look of your snail vine, & that Gladdy is almost iridesant they are all great.

Thank you Dee and everyone. Isn't it nice to be missed? Just had a little spell in hospital but OK now.
Paradisi: The snail plant is a prolific creeper, we have four grown from seed, and they cover the side of the garage. The seeds are in a pod which looks like a bean pod, but black. I believe its proper name is Vigna Caracalla - Phaseolus gigantica family: Fabaceae. That is what some members on the GW told me. It is highly perfumed, something like a gardenia and the shape of the flower is gorgeous. Doesn't last long in water but good on the vine.
Thanks Goldhills, Pete has grown plenty of veg this year, tomatoes slow due to weather, silver beet, lettuce, carrots & beans- super, but our first pumpkin.
Maria, our Shariffa Asma took a while to take off, as did the English Garden, but the wait is worth while.
Heather, my friend, how's everything with you and your family? How different to have gladdies growing on the traffic islands, very colourful. Don't they get stolen?

I was thinking of you as my snail-vine flowered again over the last few weeks. Too high again, I swore I would trim it but...er.
Everything else looks fantastic, too. Glad to hear you are OK and will welcome anything else you have to show.

I had no luck with the gladioli this year..I think I messed up the bulbs.
I gave a Remember to a family friend who lost her 28 yo son about 14 months ago.Its good to see a lovely photo of it.
