Sansevieria, Gasteria, Aloe etc wanted.

G'day all - nice to find a cacti forum on here particularly catering to Aussies.

I have had a smattering of cacti and succulents around the garden for years now (not a huge collection and nothing too special) and have recently discovered the world of Sansevieria and Gasteria. My local nurseries don't have much to offer so I was wondering if anyone on here might have some Sans, Gasteria or Aloes they'd be interested in selling (or trading but as I say I don't have a big collection as yet.)

Would be great to hear from other Sans/Gast/Aloe collectors and Im looking forward to learning lots from the forum.

Also go to the Aloe Aloe website (Google it) I have been lucky enough to get some and they are flowering now... the miniatures are just beautiful - Gemini I just love!

mt apologies for the slow reply (havent been on here for ages)

Ive managed to add a few Sans (mostly unnamed) to the collection as well as a couple more Aloes but will be keen to get some more newies - particularly as the weather improves. If you have any Sans in particular youd be interested in trading/selling please feel free to msge me through here.

Had a quick look at the aloe site - cheers - but will have to have a better look through.

I noticed your in Vic as well - Im in Swan Hill (Nth West Vic).

I would like any species of Dorstenia. If its one I already have. I would like to see a picture of it. Good chance I will still trade. I have around 30 species of aloe and several Dyckia and a few Hectia and a few banged up sansevieria to trade.

Oh, just wanted to say I've found about 100 different succulent species (which is a surprising variety) at my local greenhouses, nurseries, and garden centers in Toronto, Canada. Some times you have to check fairly often to get when the new shipments come in. Of these, there were at least 10 different Haworthia species and 6 different Gasteria. Depending exactly how much light you have, you can also look into the following: Schlumbergera Epiphyllum Rhipsalis Huernia Duvalia Gasteraloes Aloes (some) Stomatium (not sure how low these go)

Breton- I'm excited to examine this plant when it arrives because I also thought 'green ice' was a Gasteraloe, but I have since also seen the name applied to Aloes and Gasterias, so I'm really curious whether sellers are confused about the genus of their plants, or if they're misapplying the name. OK, full disclosure: I kind-of lost my head. I also ordered an Aloe 'green ice' from another seller, so I might get 2 Gasteraloes, or one Aloe and one Gasteria, or who-knows-what. I'm excited to find out. thanks everyone for your help! I'll post pictures as soon as they arrive next week.

Stush, I knew you'd pop up on here! Both of you have gorgeous collections, which is dangerously inspiring me. :) The plant in the latest picture, labeled Green Ice, is the one that I recognize as Green Ice. The other two - I have seen the red one before, but don't recall the name. The white one - no idea. Last night I did also see another potential Gasteraloe - very smooth leaves, with small widely-spaced teeth. The whole plant was very dark green, and the leaves were channeled. Didn't want to get it without a name. I also saw Gasteraloe Green Gold. My friend has sent me pieces of leaves that had rooted and produced pups. I didn't realize you could do that with these.

Kriten if you ever then go along the Murray Valley Highway as far as Strathmerton, make sure you go to Cactus Country, be prapred to psend at least three hours there, and see how many times you just say - WOW!
My parents live in Berrigan so I cross the river at Cobram.
I just can't help it, Cactus Country is a magnet to me..

I might have a spare Aloe africana if you want it and you are willing to pay postage on it. :-) Only a mature seedling about 8cm high.

I have quite a collection of Gasterias of all shapes and sizes, most of which have offsets if you are interested. They are not labelled though.
