nothing to be sqeemish about simply tie them in a plastic bag put them in the freezer then next day when they are frozen and dead shallow bury them in your gardens as fertiliser, why waste a good resource putting it in the bin?

I have not seen any around the block lately either, but I bet they are there under the mulch. I always seem to come across them when I am moving away the mulch from the drip line of the Hibiscus, and Bamboo's when they get their monthly fertilizing.

I don't venture outside in the garden of a evening anymore too many mozzies. But I have noticed since our pet dog passed away and there are no buckets of dog water around the block we seem to have less, or lets just say they choose elsewhere to have their daily swim or bath and good riddance too.

Thank goodness my freezer is full, That would put me off meat for life having them in there, sometimes ours go back to where they came from if the garbage day is too far away, three pools on the left back corner of our block, but you could not do that where you are, mind you Iam amazed at the amount of dead ones that are on our road at times my be the neighbours put them there who knows !!!!! I freeze ours after wrapping well in newspaper, other people hopefully know not to touch anything packaged like that. (Same for prawn shells, expired dog bones etc.)I tend to save the toad hunting for the couple of nights before bin day but the freezer has lots of room at the moment. Have you noticed the blighters are harder to catch after a few hunting expeditions have taken place? I think they are probably highly intelligent!

I find a 9 iron or pitching wedge works well!!!!

can't see what the hang up is with humainly killing them in the freezer, surely like us all frozen food is well packaged? and we use those plastic shopping bags without holes in the bottom to tie them in and use 2 bags so realy can't see any sort of cross contamination occuring and so far never has and with my memory the toads can end up being in the freezer for a long time, and they freeze within an hour.

in any case just bag them and put them in the fridge up the back near the cooling bar that will set them along the road to going to sleep for ever. still a waste of resource to bin them. like the wrap them in newspaper bit all you do then is next day take them out and bury them in the garden without having to see or touch the toad.

After putting a couple in the deep freezer and hearing the rustelling [sp] of the plastic bag for a while in there I decided to go back to the sharp hoe or shovel and dig them in where the deed was done, at least their trip to hell was instant.

We have lots of baby ones round at the moment too, darn things seem to come from nowhere after rain.

Trouble is us Girls are old softies, I dont mind killing them.
But there is no way I can dispose of the body.

Oh good grief!! I'm so glad we don't have them down here. I can't bring myself to kill anything bigger than small spider. I am sorry that you people have to put up with such a horrible pest.
