thanks folks i am about one mile north of the detroit border in a lovely little city called Ferndale, in Michigan yard is looking pretty good this year i like to propegate alot of my plants over winter, to plant in the yard just got done this past week planting the rest of them, i think that i had over 300 plants in the house not to mention what i bought (shame on me!!) well i think that i have about 8 more plants to go in the ground i do take all of the esquelent? (elephant ears the dark one in for the winter) i just really hate having to buy new ones whan they can grow even bigger over winter! hope that i am not rambling too much LOL and thanks again!!!

It's so nice to see these pictures on a day like today ! Your monarda combo is so pretty. I'm going to keep that in mind when we can finally buy plants again. I think your pic of the arch with the pathway is just perfect! And it's awesome to see your overall view , sometimes it's hard to picture a whole garden piece by piece. So lovely!

Thanks. I think everyone here knows that I really enjoy my garden. I like the fact that I have so much diversity that there is always something going on. The daylilies. lilies and roses are the stars of the summer garden here but afew years ago when I started with Iris was when I focused more on extending the spring show. Now I am adding spring bulbs. I want it to start with the crocus and Daffodils, go to the tulips then Dutch Iris. Then pick up with the Siberian and Tall Bearded Iris. Somehere in there the Clematis bloom. That brings us to the roses blooming and right after the Asiatic Lilies. After the Asiatics the Oriental and hybred lilies bloom while the daylilies start up. The daylily season is long around here as I have many, many late and extra late bloomers as well as my main daylily beds. Along about when the main daylily bloom is done in July, the roses have their second flush of the year. After that the sedums start their bloom. Summerlong color is added by various and many honeysuckles I have here as well as some of the perennials like Coneflowers, Shasta Daiseys, Hollyhocks, Agastache and yarrow. Adding to all of this are my favorite annuals that bloom summerlong. PLus I have numberous flowering shrubs that start in spring and go in sucession until summer like Serviceberries, Various Viburnum, Azealas, and lots more that I am forgetting to name. It is a very busy garden and I love it that way.

Thank you all so much for looking! I live in a hidden neighborhood so not many people see my gardens. Funny thing about the color of that shed... when I moved in it was brown and very run down looking. My neighbors (love them!) are very...observant, shall we say. (I think they keep a log of my comings and goings. haha) I slapped one stroke of that green on the brown shed and they were over making not-so-subtle comments about the new color. They liked it once it was done, though. I think they just were worried a wild woman had moved in across the street from them. Yes, plantmaven, that is an astible. I have several, but that is my favorite. It gets so tall. I do cut my hibiscus back to the ground each fall, lilyfinch. Don't yours grow up from the ground each year? Or are they sending new shoots from an old stem? I don't really know all that much about hibiscus, even though I have quite a few. Schoolhouse - yes, I had been eyeing that fountain for awhile, wondering where I would be able to put it. I think you really need a wall or backdrop of some sort for those flat backed ones. I run an extension cord through my garden (under the mulch) and under the grass pathway. It's a little hard to clean the fountain when it gets clogged, since it needs to be pulled away from the wall. Definitely not a fountain for someone who minds maintenance. I'm going to a pond shop sometime soon to see if they have any ideas to keep the debris out.
