Yes, I understand that. I had two plants in pots and was moving them inside for winters. But plants are getting bigger, so I decided to experiment: bought a light (and it turned out - low quality) greenhouse, moved feijoa plants into an open ground and put greenhouse on them. My plan is to use greenhouse for winter only, disassembling it at spring. I'm now considering ways of better insulation of greenhouse. Will put some leaves and manure around it, maybe cover greenhouse with bubble wrap.

I used mushroom compost to amend the planting area for a feijoa--but the compost was about 1/4 of the total soil mix. At least 1/2 was the original soil, then sand, pumice, greensand, ironite, etc.

Thank you for your replies and suggestions! whgille, not familiar with Ison's, I assume a nursery? I will google them to see if I can find them. Really hoping for a name cultivar if possible, seedlings are just not to reliable as fruits go...but if I get desperate enough, I might have to go that route. Hi Carol, called Jene's Friday and they said they are out of stock, but maybe will call them back tomorrow (maybe they got them in???) She told me to call back in a couple of weeks so not sure why on that link you sent says "in stock" ...?? I.'m a couple of hours south of St. Pete...Thanks!! Hi Sultry, yup called them, HD and walmart, nothing either :o( I do appreciate all the suggestions though...if anyone else know of a place please keep it coming :o)

did a bunch of .... cuttings (seedling) this weekend 'before looking up information' on the best methods. ==>> been there .. lol ... seedlings are grown from seeds ... dont confuse your words ... you have cuttings .. you have the media bag right there.. how about a pic of it.. and let us see what the product actually is ... i ALWAYS moisten my media.. especially a peat product ... before use .. it take a few days to moisten it ... i dont want it sodden.. just moist .. most of us think misting is useless... and inside your little chamber.. i cant imagine why you would need any additional moisture/humidity ... thats the whole point of the enclosure ... and if it isnt making humidity. that means there isnt enough water in there .... you should be able to find the preferred temp of the media.. dirrs book on propagation is the usual bible for such ... i dont have time to do it for you right now ... keep in mind.. as i dont know where you are.. it doesnt matter how warm it is during the day. but most of us kick down the heat at night in winter.. and a cold period during half the day will defeat whatever heat you have during the day ... when i tried rooting things.. i ran the heat mat at night.. to insure even temps all 24 hours .. watch some of the links below .. if you notice they are mostly vids from tropical areas.. you ought to be able to intuit the native temps and figure it out from there.. somewhat ... i have no idea if your timing.. of doing this now .... is proper ... on some plants you need NEW wood.. on others old WOOD ... just a variable i mention ... no clue on the answer ... ken https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffcm&q=guava+cuttings&iax=videos&ia=videos
