So you have a MCM house by the looks of the front door side panel but you love country so you messed with the front door and made it look silly. IMO those hall doors should be painted to match whatever wall color you choose , they are not a thing to accent and for sure not in what style you are going for. Please replace the sidelight with one that is the same style as the door and then choose a wall color you love and do the rest of the doors in that same color but in a satin finish. That carpet really needs to go but that is for another day. The doors and trim all the same as the walls except for the front door The gallery wall needs huge work BTW and those little shelves are a bit odd . Can we see your LR that would be ahuge help since I see no cozy country in those pics.

in a living room with higher ceilings and dark furniture, I prefer blinds and curtains mounted at the ceiling. My go to brand for shades and blinds is Blinds.com often great sales and a variety of colors to choose from, even black out and top down/bottom up options. For me, inside mount to show off the window itself.

Suggest a mid-range, warm shade that complements the carpet and drapes, setting the stage for the cozy/natural/medium density feel you are after. Look on line for inspiration rooms that resonate, narrow down a color family, purchase a few test pots and compare at different times of the day. Also note the accessories and bedding in your favorite rooms, as having the big picture in mind will make decorating much easier.

Ca., refinishing couldnt (?) equal the cost of a ’new’ table I’d find on Chairish , or the like,…which would be fine if we weren’t waaaay past starting out. Be so much easier to find by antiquing or even thriftng back east than here. Beverly, I remember using Formsby many years ago, though how and on what? Now, I often use Howard Restore a Finish successfully on my mostly antique woods. Im wondering if its similar to Formby’s. I will first try the Howards, then the Min -wax. * side note.
