how are the babies? any recent photo?

Yup. Here it is. 3 survived for sure. Mom did come back and care for them, despite the change in the area. This is one week after the previous photo. They had hair, longer ears and their little eyes started opening. Pretty fast growth rate. I see them hopping around the yard. Will keep my camera with me in case I get a chance for a 3rd week photo. They are so tiny and cute hopping around. Fast too, lol. I am just glad they made it.

What adorable pictures!

We stumbled across our own little bunny nest this week (there are 5 bunnies in the litter.) I have a concern that I was hoping to get some help with...

We have had terrential rain the past 2 days and the week ahead is predicted to also be rain/thunderstorms, etc. The poor sweet things were flooded from their nest yesterday and have been sleeping in the grass beside their nest. I placed a lawn chair over them and also put some flower pots beside them to protect them from the winds that we are having. Mom seems to be taking care of them since they appear to be about 2-3 weeks old (ears are still back, but they have brown coats and eyes are slightly open when awake. They have been huddled together, but at least showing activity.

Is there anything else I can be doing to help to keep them warm and safe?

It's all I can do to not scoop them up and bring them indoors every night to protect them...which I know is the absolute worst thing to do.

Any advice would be appreciated since they have a wet, windy week ahead. Thanks!

I caught a baby bunny once with a fishing net. I put on some thick garden gloves and picked it up and, boy! did it give out an odd shrieking sound. I didn't think they made any sound at all.

I put it back after that.

If you uncover a nest, please replace what you uncovered so the bunnies remain hidden, as their mother intended.

I did do so. The moms fur shades them from the sun and protects them some from the rain (the oils) These guys were pretty much uncovered when I found them, but I did cover them back up. They have pretty much stayed in the yard and I see mom a lot. Sadly, a baby bun was found dead on the road in front of my house, probaby one of these guys. Nothing can be done to keep them out of danger, I just did the best I could. Now I can plant my new flower bed though, as they left weeks ago. (the burrow)
